shown to be effective for teaching achild how to say a new sound.

The Evidence and the Apps
When children are taught how to listen to a new speech sound as well as how to
say the new speech sound, they progress twice a s fast as when the treatmentprogram focuses only on correct pronunciation
(Jamieson & Rvachew, 1992; Rvachew, 1994; Rvachew,
Nowak, & Cloutier, 2004; Rvachew, Rafaat, & Martin,1999).
What does this mean?
