SCHOOL CREED
This is our school
Let peace dwell here
Let the rooms be full of contentment
Let love abide here
Love of one another
Love of mankind, and
Love of life itself
Let us remember
As many hands build a house
So many hearts make a school
OUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY Poseidon Primary School has a set of agreed values which are
used to guide, unite and reflect the actions and decision of all
members of our school community. The values of inclusivity and
care are inherent, creating positive relationships at all levels.
Collaboration fosters the development of shared leadership, and
all staff have a direct role in decision making, enabling them to
work as a team in a friendly, flexible environment where people
matter.
Innovative teaching is embraced and supported through a culture
of knowledge sharing and listening that is embedded in the school
routines and structures. We focus on partnerships between
parents, teachers and children to improve academic, social and
emotional outcomes for all students. Together, these values
support our dynamic learning environment, providing a platform
for lifelong learning.
Our school-wide pedagogy is a core component of our school’s
identity, providing our students with a consistency of teaching,
learning and assessment. This is built on each year by our
dedicated teachers, who inspire our students to develop a passion
for learning. It provides a holistic education for students and
promotes identity with a true passion to seek
knowledge in 21st century learning environments.
Our practices have produced commendable
results in literacy and numeracy. Students
are engaged with a co-operative learning
approach using social and emotional
intelligences, integrating technology
to develop their thinking skills. In all
areas of the school, learners are self
-motivated. Teachers negotiate
the curriculum and provide inquiry
-based learning opportunities that
challenge each student. In this
way, every student experiences
success.
