FLS –Fiber LED System by USHIO

FLS uses high intensity LED light engines to provide

even illumination for many different applications.

Applications include lighting channel letters,

backlighting, neon replacement, edge lighting,

cove lighting. The possibilities are endless.

How does it work?• FLS generates a large amount of light in one spot and then spreads it out

using fiber optics.

• This leads to brighter, better illumination using less electricity.

Why is FLS better?

• One of the brightest and most uniform LED system on the market.

• Uses less power because there's far fewer LEDs involved.

• Easy to route fiber optic cable which means FLS goes places other LED systems can't.

Easy To Install

The FLS system is light as a feather, so fasten it in. A

single engine can fully illuminate up to 3’ - 4' of fiber

depending on the color and current (up to 6’ if an

engine is attached on both ends). Just bend the fiber as

needed to fit.

How does it work?

Each individual light engine contains a high power LED source that creates an efficient and bright source of light. Then there is an optical lens that is positioned over the LED to distribute and smooth out the source of light to provide illumination over a larger area. This leads to brighter, better illumination in a small package using less electricity.

Why is an DLS System better?

It’s simply a matter of scale. You are able to use far less DLS light engines and thus less energy to achieve the illumination levels desired. The DLS system is even more efficient than other LED systems.

Easy To Install

The DLS system is compact, lightweight and easy to fasten. A single engine can fully illuminate up to 1 square foot of signage (depending on the depth of the sign). It’s also easy to install and position in other lighting applications that may have space limitations.

Powering The FLS & DLS SystemsUse Constant Current Drivers

FLS & DLS Light Engines are very sensitive to changes in current. Without these drivers, the light from our engines may appear to pulse as the current fluctuates. You may also shorten the lifespan of the embedded LED.

Voltage & Wiring

Each light engine has a forward voltage slightly less than 4V. So, a driver listed as 12-24 volts can power 3 to 6 light engines.

Fully Tested

FLS Fiber LED Systems and DLS Direct LED Systems are UL listed and certified for use in damp or wet outdoor environments. They‘re also in the UL's Sign Components Manual (E318039). Finally, the entire system has been tested according to MIL-STD-810 and ASTM standards, which include exposure to high/low temperatures, salt, fog and UV radiation.
