User's manual of HSC-30/40

1. IntroductionThe HSC-30/40 is an IP extender, which is the Z-Wave gateway to control other Z-Wavedevices through ethernet. The HSC-30/40 can also increase the Z-Wave distance, andsupport more Z-Wave devices.

2. Specifications

Power 5V 1A

Signal 908.42Mhz(US), 868Mhz(EU)

Range Up to 100 feet line of sight between the wireless controller andthe HSK-200Z.

Program button To include/exclude the HSC-30/40

Ethernet Support 10/100Mhz ethernet DHCP is enabled by default.

3. Installation

3.1. Install the power and ethernet cable

The Power and ethernet socket are locate at the back panel of HSC-30/40, plug in them andexecute the software (VCOM) to search the IP of HSC-30/40.

Please following the steps to get the IP of HSC-30/40:

1. Execute the software (VCOM) and click the search button.

2. The software will search the HSC-30/40 in the local network.

3. At final get the IP address of HSC-30/40.

4. Use the web interface to configure the HSC-30Z.

USe the Web icon to start the web administration interface. Please refer to section 4 for thedetails.

3.2. Join the HSC-200 as a primary SIS controller

Enter the Scenario CAD of HSC-200 and choose the system item, then click the networkitem to configure IP Extender. There are three channels to provide you to set the IPextender, and you can choose one of them and key in the IP address of HSC-30/40 tocomplete setting.

Please following the steps to set the IP extender.

1. Enter the Scenario CAD of HSC-200.

2. Choose the System item.

3. Click the Network item.

4. Press Config IP extender button.

5. There are three channels to provide you to set the IP extender, and you can choose oneof them and key in the IP address of HSC-30/40 and press OK button to complete setting.

3.3. Join other Z-wave network as primary controller

We can use HSC-30/40 as a primary controller for generic Z-wave network. However, weneed to use the Z-wave adaption layer to write a controller in PC or other embeddeddevices.

3.4. Join other Z-wave network as secondary controller

We can use HSC-30/40 as a secondary controller for generic Z-wave network. However, weneed to use the Z-wave adaption layer to write a controller in PC or other embeddeddevices.

3.5. Factory default

4. Network setup

After you get IP address of HSC-30/40, you can enter to web server to setup the network.The default value of ID is "admin", and the password is "system".

4.1. Administrator Setting

You can check your kernel version and MAC address, set the IP setting to DHCP or Static

and change your password setting. The IP is DHCP by defualt, and the static IP address is192.168.2.1, you can choose static IP and change the IP address.

4.2. TCP mode

You can choose telnet server or Client to set the server IP addres or Port, and set thecountdown of client inactive and server protect timeout.

4.3. UDP mode

You can choose enable the status or disable it, and set the local port and the remote IPaddress.

4.4. UART Contorl

The UART Control provides RS232, RS422 and RS485 modes, and set the baud rate. Thedefault value is RS232 and 115200 baud rate.

5. Z-wave adaption layerThe Z-wave adaption layer provides users the capability to access any devices in the Z-wave network. It helps users to add,delete,association and change the configuration of theZ-wave networks.

The Z-wave adaption layer is provided as a library for Windows and Linux for x86 and ARMplatform. Other platform can be available via the cutomization service. Please contact theHomescenario representive for the details.

Please refer to the Z-Wave adaption layer reference manual for the deatils.

6. WARRANTY

Limited One (1) Year Warranty

This warranty does not cover or apply to:

(a) damage to the product due to misuse, mishanding, and abuse, (b) products not used inaccordance with manufacturer's instructions or recommendations, (c) product notassembled or installed according to manufacturer's instructions, (d) normal wear and tear,(e) wearing of the cover do to improper installation of cover and goods (f) damage to thecontents of the shelter, (g) permits required due to zoning issues, (h) damage that hasoccurred during shipping, (i) acts of God. In addition consequential damage and incidentaldamages, such as damage to persons or property are not coverable under this warranty,and you should refer to your homeowner's insurance policy as with any other outsidestructure. Note: Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages,and in those cases these limitations do not apply.
