5. Project Team Members: User Card Number, Name, and Affiliation
Project team members as well as project leaders are required to complete user registration in advance.
If your team members have chosen "Do not allow" for their account settings in the User Registration
page, their user card numbers are not displayed in search results and you cannot find them; therefore,
all users are strongly encouraged to choose "Allow." If necessary, please ask your team members to
change their account settings (Log in to My Page > “Edit My Details” link in the top right hand
corner). The account settings can be changed even after proposals are approved for beamtime.

7. Provide the significance, purpose, features and expected results of the proposed research. Make sure to
include how the proposed research can contribute to the superiority of innovation through the utilization
of SPring-8. Also make sure to indicate that your proposed research has been already accepted a
competitive research grant from an innovation related national project or R&D project, if applicable.
(required) (1,200 word limit)
SR Smart Innovation Proposal is intended for proposals which are expected to use SPring-8 as a Smart
Tool to realize the solution of 5 challenges; (1) clean & economic energy system, (2) realization of
healthy & active aging society, (3) development of next generation infrastructures, (4) regional
revitalization and (5) early recovery & rebirth from disaster. Please make sure to provide how the
proposed research can contribute to the superiority of innovation through the utilization of SPring-8.
If you are applying for the complementary use of SPring-8, J-PARC MLF and/or the K computer,
please indicate that your proposal is intended for complementary use of SPring-8, J-PARC MLF and/or
the K computer (e.g. research goal, why both facilities are necessary, characteristics/advantages of
complementary use, expected results of complementary use, etc.)
In addition, please also make sure to provide following information of J-PARC MLF and/or the K
computer applications.
(a) If you have already carried out experiment at J-PARC MLF and/or the K computer, please provide
application information such as facility’s name, research term, proposal number, title of
experiment, name/affiliation of project leader, or research group name.
If you plan to apply for J-PARC MLF and /or the K computer at the same time as SPring-8, please
provide application information such as facility’s name, research term, title of experiment,
name/affiliation of project leader or research group name (including those which are scheduled).
8. Provide the progress made regarding the proposed research, the relationship with the proposal(s) approved
in the past and with another proposal(s) being applied, if any, and your previous experience with similar
experiments. (270 word limit)
