1. Overview

There are a total of 627 districts in India out of which 569 have their ownwebsites. Presently, district websites are designed, developed, andmaintained by the respective District Administration with the help of DistrictInformatics Officers (DIO) of NIC. This has resulted in use of different types oftechnologies, design layouts, and navigation architecture. At times, one needto visit multiple websites for different services, hence the necessity tostandardize the district websites and to bring uniformity in informationdissemination, one stop Single Window Service.

This screen shows all the details available for the district on theportal.

It tells the brief details of the district.

3.1.Whos Who

It displays about the personalities holding the highest offices andimportant positions in Executive, Judiciary and Legislature in theDistrict.

This section provides the information and useful links to availvarious Citizen Services being provided by the State or District.The list, however, is not exhaustive, addition of more and moreinformation about other services for which citizens and otherstakeholders need to interact with the Government.

3.3.Programmes and Schemes Indian Government, at all levels, announces Welfare Schemes for

a cross section of the society from time to time. These Schemescould be either Central, State specific or a Joint collaborationbetween the Centre and the States. Forms of the District which are required to be filled up and

submitted for availing different services and applying for obtaining

important certificates/licenses. You can get Application forms

pertaining to commonly required documents such as Ration Card,

Driving License, Vehicle Registration, Passport, Birth/Death

certificate etc from here.

to find Government Contacts, STD/PIN Codes of any region in theDistrict.

3.8.RTI This section facilitates citizen about PIOs & APIOs of the District

which helps a citizen to seek any information, take notes, extracts

or certified copies of documents or records, take certified samplesof material under Right To Information (RTI) act.

4.1.About Us This section gives a brief idea about the district relating to

location, geographical distribution, population etc. of the district.

4.2.District at a glance This section provides the geographical, population and literacy

details of the District.

population details, household details and worker details of thedistrict.

4.4.Economy This section gives the information on the economical structure

including the livelihood of the people of the district.

4.5.History This section gives the information about the historical background

of the district.

4.6.Travel and Tourism This section gives the information about the tourist places of the

district and the road map to those places. It also states the best time of the year to visit the place and the

contact details of the concerned person of the tourist place.

4.8.STD and PIN codes This section gives the information about the area and the

corresponding Subscriber Trunk Dialing (STD) and Postal IndexNumber (PIN) codes of the district.

4.9.District Map This section lists different maps of the district relating to

administrative, anganwadi centers, district boundary, education,health, soil, tourist places etc.

This section gives a brief idea about the District. Various districtrelated statistics, history of the district, economy, tourism, art andculture is the main focus of this section.

5.1.District Collectorate This section gives the details of the existing Collector and also the

incumbency chart of collectors of the district

5.2.Law and Order

This section gives the details of the objective, activities, duties andresponsibilities of the persons relating to the law and order of thedistrict.

present in the district.
