Operating safety − Ensure that children do not play with the device by never

allowing them to use the device unsupervised. − This device is not intended for use by people (including

children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or by those without experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety or they have been instructed in its use by that person.

DANGER!

Risk of suffocation!Packaging fi lm can be swallowed or used improperly. Therefore, there is a risk of suffocation!

− Keep packaging material such as plastic fi lm or plastic bags away from children.

Setting up the device safely − Set up and operate all the components on a stable, level

and vibration-free surface to prevent the speaker from falling.

− Do not subject the device to knocks and vibrations. Knocks and vibrations may damage the sensitive electronics.

− Do not place the device near heat sources (e.g. heaters) that could affect it.

− Do not place naked fl ames (e.g. lit candles) on or near the device.

− Make sure that the vents are never covered so as to ensure that there is always adequate ventilation.

− Do not place any objects on the cables to avoid damaging them.

− Maintain a minimum distance of approx. 3.9 inch between the device or power adapter and any walls. Ensure adequate ventilation.

− Do not place liquid-fi lled containers, such as vases, on or near the device. The container may tip over and the liquid may impair the electrical safety of the device. Keep the device away from moisture and from water in droplet or spray form.

− In order to prevent malfunctions, avoid knocks, dust, heat and direct sunlight. The operating temperature is 41-95 °F.

− Do not use your device outdoors as it could be damaged by rain, snow, etc.

− Keep the device at a distance of at least 3.2 feet from high-frequency and magnetic interference sources (televisions, other speakers, cell phones, etc.) to prevent malfunctions.

− Major changes in temperature or fl uctuations in humidity can cause moisture to build up within the device due to condensation – this can cause an electrical short circuit.

Power connection − Connect the power adapter only to a power socket (AC

100–240 V ~ 50/60 Hz) that is easy to reach and close to the place where you have set up the device. The socket outlet must be freely accessible so that you can unplug the device from the power supply quickly if necessary.

− Only use the power adapter supplied with the product. Never try to connect the power adapter to other connectors as this may cause damage.

− If the product has been moved from a cold room to a warm room, wait before connecting it to the power supply. The resulting condensation may damage the device. The device can be operated safely as soon as it has reached room temperature.

− Make sure that the power cable does not present a trip hazard. Do not allow the connecting cable to become trapped or squashed.

ThunderstormsPull out the plug on the power adapter if you are away for a long period of time or there is a thunderstorm.

Never carry out repairs yourself − If the plug, cable or device is damaged, immediately

unplug the device from the power supply. − Do not use the device if it or the connecting cables are

visibly damaged or if the device itself has been dropped.

Connections − Operation in WiFi mode: The device has an integrated WiFi antenna. − Power adapter: Connect the connector plug on the power adapter

(supplied) to the DC IN port and plug the power adapter plug into an AC 100–240 V ~ 50/60 Hz socket.

− LINE IN: Connect a 3.5 mm stereo jack to the LINE IN socket to play back stereo sound output from other audio devices via the WiFi speaker.

− USB: You can connect a smart device here to charge its internal battery via the USB connection.

The USB socket on the WiFi speaker delivers a charging current of 1A at an output voltage of max. 5 V. Any devices that you connect to the WiFi speaker for charging must not consume higher currents.

Network confi gurationThe WiFi speaker is connected to the network via WiFi. The WiFi antenna on the speaker receives the signals from your network router.

Network requirementsThe network must meet the following requirements for the device to be able to access music fi les on the network:

• The router used for the network must have a DHCP server function so it can automatically assign the device a network IP address.Otherwise, set the DHCP function in the web interface to manual.

• The media sharing function for UPNP must be set up on the router.

Connecting to a power supply − Plug the power cable supplied (model number PS30D150K1200UD)

into the DC IN socket on the device.

Switching the speaker on and off

Switching on the speaker − Press and hold down the standby button 5 to turn on the speaker.

The operating LED 6 will light up in white.

Standby mode − Press and hold down the standby button 5 to turn the speaker to

standby mode.The operating LED 6 will light up in white if you are operating the WiFi speaker using the supplied power adapter, as long as the battery is not being charged.In standby mode with the power adapter connected, the speaker maintains its network connection so that it is immediately available to use when it is switched on again. The speaker consumes more electricity in this operating mode than in standby mode without the power adapter.

Using the device for the fi rst time• You can connect the WiFi speaker to your router’s existing network

with the button 1 .• When using the WiFi speaker for the fi rst time, position it as near

as possible to the router in order to guarantee a clear WiFi signal during the setup process. Then move the WiFi speaker to the desired position within the range of the WiFi signal.

WiFi connection via WPS If your router has a WPSbutton, you can easily connect the speaker to the network using this button:

− Press the button 1 on the WiFi speaker for approx. 3 seconds until the operating LED 6 fl ashes in white.

− Now press the WPS button on the WiFi router.

Please also refer to the instructions for the router.

The device will now establish a connection with the network. The operating LED 6 fl ashes quickly while the connection is being established.

• Once a connection has been successfully established, the operating LED 6 will light up permanently in white.

• The device can now play back audio signals via the network.• The device saves the connection data so that it does not need to be

entered again when the device is switched on again.

− Now enter the password for your WiFi network and confi rm your entry by tapping on Connect.

Your mobile device (smartphone or tablet PC) must be registered on your router’s WiFi network.

Playing back musicYou can use your WiFi speaker to play music from the network, play music from a device registered via WiFi (direct mode) or play stereo signals from an externally connected device.The following section describes the operating modes on the WiFi speaker and the different audio sources.

Your mobile device (smartphone or tablet PC) must be registered on your router’s WiFi network.

Installing the app on an Android/Apple smartphone/tablet PCIn order to be able to control the music playback on the WiFi speaker from a tablet PC or smartphone, you fi rst need to install the Medion X app on your tablet PC/smartphone that is available via the Playstore (Android) or AppStore (Apple).

Establishing a direct WiFi connection via Medion XIf it is not possible to establish a network connection via WPS, use the MEDION X app on your smartphone or tablet to establish a connection with the WiFi speaker.

− Switch the WiFi speaker on. − Open the WiFi settings on your mobile device. − Select the suggested audio system "X61002-

XXXX" and tap on connect. − Now press the "Back- Key" on your

smartphone. − Start the MEDION X app.

The MEDION X app now connects your mobile device to the WiFi speaker.

As soon as the connection is operational, the app switches automatically to the source directory.As soon as the device setup and thus the WiFi speaker's connection to the Internet has been successfully completed, the operating LED 6 lights up permanently in white.

Listening to music via Spotify®You can play back audio fi les from the music streaming service Spotify® via the WiFi speaker. The prerequisite is that you have the premium version of the Spotify app installed on your smartphone or tablet PC and the WiFi speaker and the device with the Spotify app are registered on the same network.The Spotify® software is subject to third party licenses found here: www.spotify.com/connect/third-party-licenses.

Installing Spotify − Open Google Play or the Apple App Store and search for the term

Spotify. − Install the Spotify app on your smartphone or tablet PC. Follow the

installation instructions on the screen. − Subscribe to a premium account from Spotify®.

In order to be able to install the Spotify application, there must be an Internet connection.The premium version of the Spotify app is subject to a fee.

− In order to add a WiFi speaker to a group, you need to tap on the corresponding WiFi speaker and simply "pull" it onto another desired WiFi speaker.

This enables you to play music from all of the WiFi speakers "allocated" to this group at the same time.

− In order to delete a WiFi speaker from a group, simply "pull" the desired WiFi speaker out of the group.

You can now play different music via each individual WiFi speaker.

Playing back music via Bluetooth − Briefl y press the button to switch the WiFi

speaker into Bluetooth mode. The speaker confi rms this with the audio message “Waiting for connection”.

The operating light starts to fl ash in white. − Connect the smart device via Bluetooth with

the Bluetooth device "X61002".The operating LED starts to light up in white as soon as the WiFi speaker has been connected to the smartphone.

Playback from an external audio device − Connect the supplied 3.5 mm stereo jack to

the LINE-IN socket to play back stereo sound output from other audio devices via the WiFi speaker.

The WiFi speaker automatically switches to LINE IN mode and the operating LED lights up in white.

− In order to return to the previously set WiFi mode (network or Bluetooth), press the button.

Charging a USB device via the USB socketYou can charge the battery on a device that is capable of being charged via a USB connection using the USB socket on the WiFi speaker.

− Connect the device that you want to charge to the USB socket on the rear of the WiFi speaker using a USB cable.

The USB socket on the WiFi speaker delivers a charging current of 1A at an output voltage of max. 5 V. Any devices that you connect to the WiFi speaker for charging must not consume higher currents.

In order to charge other devices, the WiFi speaker must be switched on and the USB charging function activated.

Resetting the device in case of malfunctionIf the device fails to react, disconnect the power adapter from the power socket and then plug it in again after a few seconds.

from right to left on the main screen of the app.

Software update• You can update the software for the WiFi speaker via the app. The

app searches to see if a software update is available and then downloads the update onto the WiFi speaker from the Internet.

− Switch the WiFi speaker on. − Start the MEDION X app. − Open the device list by swiping your fi nger from

right to left on the main screen of the app.The app automatically checks whether a software update is available for the registered WiFi speaker.If an update is available, the information fi eld NEW

appears next to the setting ( ) for the corresponding WiFi speaker.

TroubleshootingIf the device malfunctions, please check fi rst if you can eliminate the error yourself with the help of the following overview.Never try to repair the devices yourself. Contact our Service Center or other qualifi ed personnel if a repair is necessary.

Conexión a la red eléctrica − Conecte la fuente de alimentación a un tomacorriente

(CA 100-240 V ~ 50/60 Hz) de fácil acceso y cercano al lugar de colocación. Para que el dispositivo pueda desconectarse rápidamente de la corriente en caso necesario, el enchufe debe estar accesible.

− Utilice exclusivamente la fuente de alimentación incluida. En ningún caso trate de conectar la fuente de alimentación a otros tomacorrientes, puesto que pueden producirse daños.

Primer uso• El altavoz inalámbrico se puede conectar con la red existente del

router oprimiendo el botón 1 .• Al encender el altavoz inalámbrico por primera vez, acérquelo

al router tanto como pueda para asegurarse de que reciba sin problemas la señal inalámbrica de la instalación. A continuación, coloque el altavoz inalámbrico dentro del radio de alcance de la señal inalámbrica.

Conexión WiFi mediante WPS Si su router dispone de un botón WPS, este se puede utilizar para establecer la conexión del altavoz con la red:

− Oprima el botón 1 del altavoz inalámbrico durante unos 3 segundos hasta que el LED de funcionamiento 6 parpadee en blanco.

− Luego oprima el botón WPS del router inalámbrico.

Consulte el manual de instrucciones del router.

El dispositivo establecerá una conexión con la red. Durante este proceso, el LED de funcionamiento 6 parpadeará rápido.

• Una vez establecida correctamente la conexión, el LED de funcionamiento 6 se quedará encendido en blanco.
