Introduction⇒A Smartphone is the combination of the functions of mobile devices and handheld computers into a single device.⇒A smartphone is a mobile phone with an advanced operating system. Smartphones typically include the features of a phone with those of other popular mobile devices.⇒The first official mobile phone used in Sweden by the Swedish police in 1946

Problem Identification⇒The nature of the Smartphone industry carries with it the continuous problems of short product lifecycles, rapid technological advancements, a decreasing new user market base, a large presence of limitations & substitutions & numerous barriers of entry such as stiff competition & strong brand loyalty.

⇒ These problems require companies to be constantly & consistently ahead of current trends & consumer demands in order to produce the “latest” products in a timely manner.⇒very expensive.⇒selected for use only.⇒keeps away from outdoor games.⇒only selected brands are used.

Objective of Study⇒The research aims at finding the factors that majorly influence the buying decision of a customer while choosing a Smartphone.⇒This research is basically an exploratory research, where it is aimed to explain the relation between the four independent factors namely price, brand name, features and social influences.⇒Based on these concepts, the objectives were set, and the questionnaire was designed. Primary data were collected with convenient sampling.⇒The collected data were analyzed and interpreted using chi-square, reliability analysis, Factor analysis, Confirmatory Factor Analysis.

Research MethodologyThis research is about usage of mobile phones and how teen and young adults make use of it. ⇒Research Design: Descriptive research design has been used for the study.⇒Sampling Techniques: Stratified random sampling has been derived from non-probability sampling method to select students.⇒Sample size & Data collection: From the total population students are chosen as sample size for the study and the data is collected through a Structured Questionnaire.⇒Tools & Techniques: Percentage Analysis Chi Square test Factor Analysis T-test Analysis

Suggestions⇒Media taking a lead role⇒Instead of setting a minimum age limit⇒This study reveals that teenagers and young adults using mobile phones.⇒Above all, teenagers shouldering the responsibility for making the best possible use of device.

Limitations of studyWhile pursuing the research, there were several limitations that come across that limited the efforts of looking for the required information. Conclusion⇒This research is a unique examination of a modern day phenomenon, young people‘s preoccupation with their cell phones. ⇒This study facilitated the investigation of an emerging pattern of cell phone usage. ⇒Mobile technology and smart phones play a major role in everyday life.⇒Despite of the positive benefits like using cell phone to connect/call family, friends…etc.⇒This study also identifies the characteristics of those teens and young adult at risk of developing an over- involvement with their cell phones.
