Fancy's was created by Lisa R Burney of Shreveport, Louisiana. She has been in the coffee business for over 15 years. Her first gig was her own coffee bar, The Java House. As a single mother, she operated her own cafe while also managing a Barnes and No-bles Cafe. She received her Starbucks training in 1997. Lisa has now created Fancy's online cafe for all avid coffee drinkers and those inquiring about our products.
I have known Lisa Burney practically all of my
life. She has always been a “get up and go “
type of girl. She has been an entrepreneur for as
long as I can remember. The other constant in
her life—coffee.
Lisa Burney is the owner of Fancy’s Caffe. She
is a former coffee bar owner and has been in the
coffee business for over 15 years. She is a cof-
fee connoisseur and understands the fact that
people drink coffee consistently. Lisa started
Fancy’s Coffee Brand in June of 2010.
Visit her website at http://www.wix.com/
lsburney/fancyfrappe1968 to check a extensive
selection of coffees.
When asked how does faith play a role in your
business life? Lisa says, “My faith gives me the
wisdom to know not to five up. As long as the
Lord is on my side, there is no regress, only pro-
gress. My hope and faith in God is the only
thing that will stand in the end. I ask the Lord to
lead me in the direction I should go. Sometimes
u can cross people who don't know the Lord and
you are able to share the Word with them and in-
vite them to fellowship at your church.”
After being in business for over 15 years, Lisa
has advice for those looking to become entrepre-
neurs. She says, “Establish your brand and be
sure to know your target market.. Product place-
ment is important as well. Where ever you lo-
cate your business, get to know the people who
live around it.”
In addition to entrepreneurship, Lisa has been
em-
ployed
with
Caddo
Parish
School Board for over 10 years.
At this time, the website for Fancy’s Caffe is of-
ficially open and ready for business! Whether the
occasion is a birthday, job promotion, or the up-
coming holidays, Fancy’s Gift Baskets will bring
delight to your friends and loved ones.. The
baskets will consist of a choice of coffees and
your choice of design. The Holiday baskets are
very economical and a great gift.
In addition to Fancy’s Gift Baskets, there are a
variety of products from which to choose. From
Brownies and Biscotti to a wide variety of coffee
flavors, Fancy’s Coffee Brand is your one-stop
for everything coffee.
In the very near future, Lisa will be opening a
coffee bar. She promises to keep us updated.

What is Faith? According to Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the sub-
stance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Talk about stepping out on faith! The lives of the recent honorees at the Southern Black Theatre Festival this year is a testament to that kind of faith. Each of them started out with a dream and established ca-reers in the arts that has even surpassed their own dreams. Each of them is considered experts in their fields. Each of them love what they do! If you missed this amazing awards ceremony, you missed a treat! Congratulations goes out to Mr. Luther Cox, Jr., Mr. John O’Neal, and Ms. Irma P. Hall. My daughter had the privilege to take dance class under Luther Cox Jr. and I had the privilege to serve on the board of Inter City Row Cultural Arts Insti-tute. Mr. Cox is truly legendary when it comes to the arts in this region, espe-cially dance. He is dedicated and persistence in producing quality perform-ances. As Founder, Artistic Director, and Choreographer of Inter City Row Modern Dance Company, Mr. Cox is truly deserving of this honor. John O’Neal was a national honoree receiving the 2010 SBTF Living Legend Award for his lifetime achievement and dedication to the arts as a catalyst for social change., visionary influence and artistic commitment as a renowned ac-tor, activist, and co-founder of the Free Southern Theatre formed in 1963 to be a cultural arm of the Civil Rights Movement, and founder of Junebug Produc-tions in New Orleans. Irma P. Hall, affectionately known as “Big Mama” from her role as the loving matriarch in the movie and HBO series Soul Food, was honored for her creative excellence and dramatic impact on the global landscape of the performing and cultural arts. This legendary stage, television, and film actress is the co-founder of the Dallas Minority Repertoire Theatre formed in 1974. She is also the Artistic Director of the African American Rep Theatre in Desoto, TX. (She is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.) During the 2010 Southern Black Theatre Festival, she received the Judi Ann Mason Spirit of Creativity Award. I would like to encourage everyone to get involved in the arts. Whether you are on the stage or behind the scenes, it is an awe-inspiring experience.
