Bhopal, Tuesday, September 28, 2021 3 City Bhopal: Rajkumar Malviya has been wel- comed and felicitated by research scholars of Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology on 27th September 2021. For the last two years, Rajku- mar Malviya, leader of re- search scholars, along with other scholars were trying to get HRA amount. On the intervention of Bhopal MP Pragya Singh, an order has been issued by the MANIT Management on 22nd September 2021 regarding grant of HRA amount to PhD re- searchers of 2019, 2020 and 2021 batches. The amount of previous years will be given to schol- ars in the form of arrears. Research scholars have invited MP Pragya Singh for “Direct Interaction of MP with MANIT Research Scholars” and for her felicitation cere- mony. MANIT Research Scholars are facing re- search-related and other economic difficulties due to the Covid 19 epidemic. On the contrary, the MANIT management is harassing PhD scholars mentally as well as financially by slap- ping unnecessary rules. PhD scholars have been demanding MANIT management that PhD should be awarded based on research paper publication in Scopes Indexed Research Journal removing the obligation of paper publication in SCI/SCIE Research Journal of Q1, Q2 Standard. Unnecessary conditions of obtaining permis- sion from MANIT management should also be removed before putting the paper in the re- search journal. They also demand that as per government of India rules, SC/ST PhD scholars should be given a 100% discount on tuition fees. Research resources and facilities should be in- creased. The expenditure incurred on the exper- imental setup, research publication, patent and other research-re- lated needs during the research should be met by the MANIT man- agement. PhD scholars had gone to meet the MAN- IT director today on all these demands but despite many requests, the director refused to meet him. Research scholars had to return empty-handed without meeting the director. Now forced research scholars will appeal to MP Pragya Singh over their problems. Also if necessary, they will agitate peacefully in the MANIT premises. For the last one and a half years, research scholars have been doing re- search work at home, away from the MANIT In- stitute in the corona period. Research work has been ham- pered due to the lack of resources and proper guid- ance because of being away from the campus. Re- search scholars are going through a lot of mental stress due to un- necessary rules of MANIT manage- ment. Many scholars have gone into a suici- dal phase.
