    Envirotech now providing fully automated Stations for monitoringAmbient Air Quality and source monitoring including monitors forSO2, NO & NO2, CO, O3, PM10, PM2.5, BTX, Methane & NonMethane Hydrocarbons, Mercaptans and Meteorologicalparameters.

    National Ambient Air QualityStandards (NAAQS)

    The ambient air quality objectives/standards are pre-requisite fordeveloping programme for effective management of ambient airquality and to reduce the damaging effects of air pollution. The

    objectives of air quality standards are: - To indicate the levels of air quality necessary with an adequate

    margin of safety to protect the public health, vegetation andproperty.

    To assist in establishing priorities for abatement and control of

    pollutant level;

    To provide uniform yardstick for assessing air quality at nationallevel; and

    To indicate the need and extent of monitoring programme.

    NATIONAL AMBIENT AIR QUALITYSTANDARDS (2009)

    * Annual Arithmetic mean of minimum 104 measurements in ayear at a particular site taken twice a week 24 hourly atuniform intervals.

    ** 24 hourly or 8 hourly or 1 hourly monitored values, asapplicable, shall be complied with 98% of the time in a year.2% of the time, they may exceed the limits but not on twoconsecutive days of monitoring.

    NOTE: Whenever and wherever monitoring results on twoconsecutive days of monitoring exceed the limits specifiedabove for the respective category, it shall be consideredadequate reason to institute regular or continuous monitoringand further investigations.
