Uploading a video to YouTube from iPad I. Record a video A. Preparation 1. Audio -One of the keys to a good video is good audio. -Poor audio can ruin a good video and but good audio can make a bad video great. -Find an area that has carpet and drapes. The more material in a room, the less ambient noise you will have on the recording 2. Lighting -Try not to have any light source in your camera’s view -The best lighting is lighting that is shinning on the object being recorded from BEHIND the video recorder 3. Room size -The size of the room is not an issue. -Any small room or office will work, I record in a 5x8 office. B. Settings 1. Optimal record settings -On your iPad, go to “Settings” -Scroll down to “Photos & Camera” -Scroll down to near the bottom and make sure the setting for “Record Video” is set to “720p at 30 fps” -720 and 1080 are the amount of pixels per inch -For instrument videos, 720 is sufficient and will save on storage memory and upload to YouTube speed 2. Positioning your iPad -Some sort of stand for the iPad is nice but not necessary -You’ll want to be able to use the camera that’s on the screen side of the iPad -Go to “Camera” -Make sure the setting is on video by clicking on “Video” near the record button -The best camera position is horizontal -Hold the ipad in a horizontal position until the writing and numbers turn horizontally. -Click the camera button to change the recording view
