I) CURRENT ENVIRONMENT

Database : 2 node RAC environment

Application : 2 node

File System is not shared

II) PRE-UPGRADE ANALYSIS

A. BACKUP DATABASE & APPLICATION

Please take clean backup of Database and application before starting any of the upgrade steps

B. STAGE SOFTWARE

Download all required patches and software’s and copy it to the stage directory

C. REQUIRED INFORMATION

Get the below credentials

1. System, Apps DB schema passwords.

2. Root, Oracle and Applmgr Unix user password.

3. Sysadmin application user password

III) PRE-UPGRADE STEPS

A. OCM UNINSTALL / INSTALL [ID 727157.1]

1. Uninstall Existing OCM on DB & App Tier

1.1. On App Boxes

Stop OCM running under $INST_TOP/ocm/10.1.2 and $INST_TOP/ocm/10.1.3

Delete $INST_TOP/ocm directory

Delete $ORACLE_HOME/ccr_stage and $IAS_ORACLE_HOME/ccr_stage

1.2. On DB Boxes

Stop OCM

Remove the OCM user and the associated objects from the database

SQL> @ccr/admin/scripts/dropocm.sql;

Delete $ORACLE_HOME/ccr

Manually remove the crontab entry*

Delete $ORACLE_HOME/ccr_stage directory

*Make sure to uncomment the crontab entry after upgrade

2. Installing Latest OCM

Remote Diagnostic Agent (RDA) 4 - Getting Started [ID 314422.1].

Note: OCM is bundled with RDA

Installation is not a mandatory setup for upgrade, So we can ignore

B. JDK AND JRE UPGRADE FROM V5.0 TO V6.0 [455492.1]

1. JDK upgrade on APP tier

1.1 Download latest JDK

Note: Download 32 bit version of jdk

Download Latest JDK from

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk-6u27-download-

File downloaded: jdk-6u27-linux-i586-rpm.bin

1.2 Backup existing JDK

Shutdown all the middle tier services

Backup the existing jdk directory in /ebiz/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/appsutil

Create a new jdk directory /ebiz/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/appsutil and move the

downloaded file jdk-6u27-linux-i586-rpm.bin to jdk directory

1.3 Install JDK as root user

As root user run jdk-6u27-linux-i586-rpm.bin

Copy all the files in /usr/java/jdk1.6.0_27 to $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jdk

Change the ownership of /ebiz/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/appsutil /jdk to applmgr and dba

group

1.4 Install Albany (Display font)

Copy all the .ttf files in $FND_TOP/resource to

$IAS_ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jdk/jre/lib/fonts/

1.5 Verification

Move to /ebiz/apps/tech_st/10.1.3/appsutil/jdk/bin and run the command

./java –version (or)

ADJVAPRG -version

2. JRE upgrade on DB tier

2.1 Download latest JRE

Note: Download 32 bit version of jre from

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre-6u29-download-

513650.html

File downloaded: jre-6u27-linux-i586-rpm.bin

2.2 Backup existing JRE

Backup the existing jre directory in $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil

2.3 Install JRE as root user

As root user run jre-6u27-linux-i586-rpm.bin

Copy all the files from /usr/java/jre1.6.0_27 to $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jre and

change the ownership of copied files to oracle (dba group)

2.4 Verification

Move to the directory $ORACLE_HOME/appsutil/jre/bin and type the following

command ./java -version

Before applying any Patchset take a backup of the consecutive home (10.1.3 home)

1.2. Apply the patch in VNC

Go to 10.1.3 home and set the environment file located there.

Download the patch p7272722_101340_LINUX.zip and unzip

Before running the installer enter the command linux32 bash

Run the installer by specifying the local home inventory location

Press Next in 1st screen

Name: PROD_WEBOH__oracle_PROD_apps_tech_st_10_1_3

Path: Path of 10.1.3 home

Oc4jadmin password: secret (Default password)

Press OK when prompt for middle tier shutdown

Press Install

As root run root.sh in 10.1.3 home

Press exit to finish the installation

1.3. Verification

Go to 10.1.3 home/opmn/bin/ and issue the command opmnctl status –l

Check whether the status column is alive

1.4. Post Steps

Run autoconfig in Application node

Run autoconfig in APPLICATION

Move to 10.1.2 home/forms/lib and run “make -f ins_forms.mk install”

Move to 10.1.2 home/reports/lib and run “make -f ins_reports.mk install”

Generate forms and reports using adadmin utility

IV) UPGRADE

A. 12.0.6 TO 12.1.1 UPGRADE [752619.1]

1. Pre-Upgrade Steps

Download and apply the following adpatches

Run the script adgrants.sql in database node as apps user

Apply the adpatch 7461070

2. Applying 12.1.1 Maintenance Pack

Enable Maintenance mode using adadmin

Move to $PER_TOP/patch/115/driver and apply the hrglobal.drv

Apply the adpatch 7303031 and disable maintenance mode

3. Post Upgrade Steps

Move to $AD_TOP/bin and run “perl admkappsutil.pl”

Move the appsutil.zip created to Database node ($ORACLE_HOME)

Move to database $ORACLE_HOME and unzip the appsutil.zip file

Enable maintenance mode using adadmin

5. Upgrading Concurrent Manager node

Tar the node 1 apps directory and copy that to node 2 apps and run adcfgclone

Tar the apps directory and move to apps node2

Run adcfgclone with batch services activated on node2

VI) PIV

1. Check the App version

select RELEASE_NAME from fnd_product_groups;

2. Check The invalid count

select count(*) from user_objects where status='INVALID';

3. Access E-biz url
