N E W RU L E SThis section contains brief descriptions of new
rules found in this expansion. The full rules can be found in the
rules reference document at:

NEW UPGRADE ICONSThis expansion includes several new upgrade
icons. Each upgrade icon use the corresponding name listed
below:
_ Fleet Command
̂Fleet Supporta Experimental Retrofitf Superweapon
NEW COMMAND ICONSr Any Command Icon: This icon appears on some
upgrade cards. When it appears as a token that an upgrade card
begins the game with, the player places the indicated number of
command tokens in any combination of types that player chooses.
When this icon appears on an upgrade card as a ready cost, the
player can pay that cost with the indicated number of command
tokens in any combination of types that player chooses.
s Any Dial Icon: This icon appears on some upgrade cards. This
icon means the owning player can set the indicated number of
command dials to any command or mix of commands and stack them
facedown on the card, similar to a ship's command stack.
NEW UPGRADE CARD RULESMultiple-Icon Upgrade Cards: Some upgrade
cards in this expansion have more than one upgrade icon. For each
group of these icons in a ship’s upgrade bar, it may equip one
upgrade card with the matching upgrade icons. That group of icons
cannot be used to equip additional upgrade cards.
Flagship-Restricted Upgrade Card Trait: A ship cannot equip an
upgrade card with the flagship restriction trait if that ship is
not the flagship.
Name-Restricted Card Trait: Some title (W) upgrade cards in this
expansion have a restriction trait that limits them to being taken
by certain ship cards. A ship cannot equip an upgrade card if that
ship's name does not match the upgrade card's name-restriction
trait, even if its ship silhouette matches the silhouette on the
upgrade card.
Size-Restricted Upgrade Card Trait: A ship cannot equip an
upgrade card if that ship is not of a size class specified by that
upgrade card’s size-restriction trait.
Upgrade Cards with tokens or dialsSome upgrade cards begin the
game with a number of command tokens or facedown command dials.
These dials or tokens are chosen and placed on the card when that
ship is deployed during the “Deploy Ships” step of Setup.
If an upgrade card begins the game with command dials or command
tokens, it is indicated in the lower-left corner of that card by a
numeral and one or more icons over a blue background.
Command tokens or dials on an upgrade card belong to that card
and are not assigned to the ship that card is equipped to. Command
tokens or dials on an upgrade card can only be spent or discarded
as indicated by that card's effect.
Upgrade Cards with reCUr and non-reCUr iConsSome upgrade cards
are marked with a recur (p) icon. These cards are readied during
the Status Phase.
Some upgrade cards are marked with a non-recur (q) icon. These
cards do not ready during the Status Phase unless that player pays
the cost to ready that card.
A ready cost is paid by spending the indicated number and type
of command tokens, the indicated number or shields, or by suffering
the indicated amount of damage.
If a card has a ready cost, it is indicated below the non-recur
(q) icon in the lower-right corner of the card by a numeral and one
or more command icons over a red background. The owning player can
pay the cost by spending command tokens of the indicated number and
type.
NEW TOKENSThis expansion introduces several new types of
tokens.
Chaff and Focus Tokens: Some upgrade cards in this expansion
refer to chaff tokens. The player controlling the equipped ship
places that token on one of that ship's hull zones to mark that
card's effect. The reverse side of this tokens is blue, and is
referred to as focus token.
Raid Tokens: Some upgrade cards in this expansion refer to raid
tokens. While a ship has a raid token, it cannot resolve the
command matching that raid token. When a ship with a raid token
reveals a command dial, it may discard that dial to discard all of
its raid tokens, or it may discard a command token to discard a
matching raid token. A ship cannot have more that one raid token of
each type.
Raid Token
Chaff/Focus Token (Double Sided)
Proximity Mine Tokens: Some upgrade cards in this expansion
refer to proximity mine tokens. When proximity mine tokens are
placed, they must be placed beyond distance 1 of any other
proximity mine tokens.
When a ship ends its movement at distance 1 of a proximity mine
token, remove that token from the play area and roll two blue dice.
That ship is dealt one facedown damage card for each F or E icon
rolled.
Attacking Proximity Mine Tokens: When a ship performs an attack,
it can declare one proximity mine token as a target instead of
attacking a ship or squadrons. The defending mine token is treated
as a squadron with one hull point that is not friendly to any ship
or squadron and has no keywords or defense tokens. If that token
suffers at least one point of damage, remove that token from the
play area.
