Upfront Information (as of 11 Feb) 1) There is an ongoing ice jam on the Elkhorn River upstream of Scribner. This jam is expected to remain until warmer temperatures this weekend into next week can melt some of the ice in place. a) The primary threat from this ice jam is flooding of Highway 275. 2) Latest Ice Reports a) The latest information says that the majority of the Loup/Elkhorn/Platte Rivers are ice free. b) There are a few exceptions to this (i.e. Scribner). 3) After a brief “cold snap” on Thursday, the forecast is for above-normal temperatures and little to no precipitation over the next week.
