The Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) provides an infrastructure for applying relevant research to local cancer prevention and control needs.
Mission of CPCRN: To accelerate the adoption of evidence-based cancer prevention and control in communities.
Vision of CPCRN: The Network will be engaged in research and practice activities that span the translation continuum from discovery to the dissemination and adoption of effective interventions.

Population Estimates
Research on estimating the number of women eligible for the NBCCEDP; Collaboration between CDC and Census Bureau
Available Data (through 2006) from CPS ASEC* Tabulations Women
2-year and 3-year state level estimates of the number of low-income (at or below 200 percent or at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty threshold), uninsured women by age group (18-64, 40-64, and 50-64)
The National estimates include the same information by race and ethnicity
Men State level estimates of low-income uninsured men by age, and
national level tabulations of low-income uninsured men by age, race, and ethnicity
*Current Population Survey Annual Social and Economic Supplement
Population Estimates
Future Data – Modeled Based Estimates By the end of FY08, county level estimates of the
NBCCEDP eligible population (low-income uninsured women by age) will be published on the Census Bureau’s web site (with links to the CDC website)
FY09, publish state and county estimates
Possibility of annual production of model-based state estimates of low-income uninsured women by age, race, and ethnicity and county estimates of low-income uninsured women by age
Current Research on Survivorship
Examining health behaviors among CRC survivors 5 years after cancer.
Assessing quality of life and choice in prostate cancer treatment (with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Res. Cntr, Univ. S. Cal., Univ. Texas, and the Medical Univ. of S.C.).
Evaluating the effectiveness of a nationally-available survivorship program among a disadvantaged population (with UAB).
Collaborating with researchers at the ACS to examine lifestyle changes made by cancer survivors 2, 6, and 11 yrs after diagnosis.
