The Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) provides an infrastructure for applying relevant research to local cancer prevention and control needs.

Mission of CPCRN: To accelerate the adoption of evidence-based cancer prevention and control in communities.

Vision of CPCRN: The Network will be engaged in research and practice activities that span the translation continuum from discovery to the dissemination and adoption of effective interventions.

Research on estimating the number of women eligible for the NBCCEDP; Collaboration between CDC and Census Bureau

Available Data (through 2006) from CPS ASEC* Tabulations Women

2-year and 3-year state level estimates of the number of low-income (at or below 200 percent or at or below 250 percent of the federal poverty threshold), uninsured women by age group (18-64, 40-64, and 50-64)

Current Research on Survivorship

Examining health behaviors among CRC survivors 5 years after cancer.

Assessing quality of life and choice in prostate cancer treatment (with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Res. Cntr, Univ. S. Cal., Univ. Texas, and the Medical Univ. of S.C.).

Evaluating the effectiveness of a nationally-available survivorship program among a disadvantaged population (with UAB).

Collaborating with researchers at the ACS to examine lifestyle changes made by cancer survivors 2, 6, and 11 yrs after diagnosis.
