showcased skills in audience engagement, vocal expression, non verbal communication and the
ability to think quickly on their feet to present an impromptu speech on a given topic.

Spelling Bee Mrs Batten hosted the 2017 Spelling Bee in our school hall last week. There was a junior and senior competition with five finalist vying for the title of ‘champion’ in each event. An exciting atmosphere was enjoyed by visiting parents, teachers and student spectators, as Mr Robinson paced each contestants through the spelling words in accordance with spelling bee protocols. We proudly celebrate the talents and effort of our young spellers and acknowledge the excellent teaching and learning that goes into enabling our students to work toward their potential. Winners: Jade Moore (Junior), Ryley Hoile (Senior)
On Wednesday, all of our primary students (and some very brave Year 2 students) participated in our School Athletics Carnival. The sun shone all day at Warnervale Oval. Our students were given the opportunity to take part in running, discus, high jump and long jump events. Looking around, it was promising to see lots of smiling faces. Our students tried their very best, and were extremely encouraging and supportive of each other. What fantastic attitudes! Those students who placed top four in their age group earnt points for their house. Top three are to receive ribbons very soon. Top two (if reached qualifying Well done to everyone! Band Parents Only
Big Day In 2 September 2017
You are invited to the Conservatorium’s Big Day In School Band Workshop! The Conservatorium’s Big Day In will be run as an adjunct to Big Day Out which happened on 26th June, as some schools were not able to send teachers to supervise the large numbers of students who registered. Big Day In is a band workshop day for young instrumentalists across the Central Coast to come together and have fun playing new music with other interested students. Having a large number of like-minded young musicians will surely be inspirational to all involved. There will be several bands, covering all standards from beginner to advanced. Cost: $25 per student (plus a $2.20 online booking fee) Bring: Instruments, music stand, pencil, recess and lunch Registrations are now open.

Holiday club was a great success the children had fun going to the movies to see Despicable 3. Building a solar system clowning around which the children learnt to juggle balls play, with a parachute and spin plates. There was also a lot of craft making and playing with their peers. Camp Australia welcomes the new children and their parents to Holiday Club. This term at Camp Australia the children have been learning to show leadership when playing a game. The children have also learnt how to make bracelet using different coloured beads and designing them. Camp Australia is fun rising to support Indigenous children for Numeracy and Literacy so here at Lake Munmorah the children this term are drawing their own portraits which are then going to be sold to the parents and grandparents. The portraits drawn shows how artistic each and every child is and should be so proud of what they have achieved.
Camp Australia is supporting The Australian Literacy and Numeracy Foundation Currently only one in five Indigenous children in some very remote communities can read at the minimum standard. Not having basic literacy resources like books is a significant barrier for children in these communities. On {14/8/17 to 18/8/17} we will be raising funds to provide Literacy Packs to Indigenous chil-dren. Our not for profit organisation, the Camp Australia Foundation will match every dollar raised. Please help us to support disadvantaged Indigenous children. WELCOME ALL NEW FAMILES Mrs Beverly North
