DUBLIN SCHOOLS DUBLIN UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT

DATE: January 13, 2016 TO: District Staff / Parent Group Leaders / Students FROM: Mark McCoy, Assistant Superintendent Human Resources RE: DISTRICT RECOGNITION – 2016 A primary goal of the Board of Trustees of Dublin Schools and the district administration is to continue to acknowledge the importance of a high level of staff morale. One way to do this has been to consider outstanding employees for recognition. Dublin Schools initiated a program in 1989 to provide for special recognition for classroom teachers, classified staff members, administrators, and volunteers who have been nominated by members of the school community including teachers, classified staff, administrators, parents, community groups, and students. The purpose of District Recognition is to officially honor those employees and volunteers who demonstrate consistently notable achievement in supporting the District’s Mission:

“Our mission is to ensure that every student becomes a lifelong learner by providing a rigorous and relevant 21st century education that prepares him/her for college and career or service to our country and for success in a global economy.”

Eligibility is extended to all district employees and volunteers. In order to nominate someone, a letter of nomination must be completed. Nomination forms are available in district and school offices and on the district website at www.dublinusd.org, under Headline Articles. Nominations must be submitted to Human Resources no later than 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 1, 2016. Multiple nominations may be submitted for one individual; however, we ask that each nomination form be for one employee or volunteer only and that each be signed by one individual only. The selection of staff members and volunteers to be recognized will be based on the letters of nomination as determined by a committee consisting of at least one representative each from the certificated, classified, and leadership staff. Selected staff members and volunteers will be recognized at an official ceremony of the Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at 4:30 p.m. We hope that you will take a careful look around you and consider those individuals who have demonstrated outstanding qualities for students, parents, the community, or other staff members during this school year. In order to be considered, nominations must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Monay, February 1, 2016.
