September 6, 2000 Daniel Adam Millar believed that the Antichrist would appear, proclaim himself God, and Armageddon would begin. January 20, 2001 — Lyn Mize believed the Rapture would occur and John F. Kennedy would be revealed as the Antichrist (even though he was dead). April 14, 2002 — Mike Keller believed Jesus would appear for his saints and nuclear war would begin 45 days later. 2005 - 2050 — Matt Savinar theorized that 90 percent of the world’s population would die in a war over oil, food shortages, and disease. August 22, 2006 Bernard Lewis believed that World War III would begin when Iran invaded Israel because Israel would respond with nuclear weapons. 1997 - 2007 — Thomas Chase predicted a number of events, including the Antichrist appearing sometime in 1999 or 2000, nuclear crisis in Russia, and nuclear war in 2007. July 2010 — Igor Panarin predicted that the U.S. government would col- lapse because the 48 mainland states would split up into four separate coun- tries. Alaska would join Russia and Hawaii would join Japan or China. May 21, 2011 — Harold Camp- ing and many others believed the Rapture and Judgement Day would happen on this day. When it didn’t, they changed their theory to October 21. May 27, 2012 — Ronald Wein- land theorized that the U.S. would collapse, World War III would begin, and the world would be de- stroyed three and a half years later. Dec. 21, 2012 — Mayan Doomsday. The Mayan’s never believed in the end of the world, their calendar only predicted the end of this Cycle and the beginning of another in the form of changes on the Earth (earth- quakes, volcanic eruptions, etc.). I’d survive the apocalypse by getting really strong by doing push-ups and then go find a knife and kill zombies.” George Stockhammer, senior “[I’d like the world to end with] a black hole. Then the pets will try to annihilate each other and we’ll all be nuked by the end. End of the World theoriesJanuary 1, 2000 - Y2K
