Dear Mr. Fortune, My name is Keshia Leon and I am new to the west coast. While discussing new possible career opportunities your name came up in conversation and, after a bit of research; I decided to reach out. I am currently seeking job opportunities in marketing and communications with a specific focus in the music and entertainment industry. Your vision, mission and values pertaining to live entertainment and the connections between the artists and their fans speak strongly to me. For the past decade I have been living in Ottawa, working hard, playing hard and developing a strong bond to live music and the people that appreciate and love it. During my time in Ottawa I pursued post- secondary education and worked in the customer service, sales, restaurant and entertainment industries. I attended Carleton University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and a minor in Political Science. Prior to that I attended Algonquin College where I earned a diploma in Print Journalism. I believe that the network I was immersed in, predominantly belonging to the music/ entertainment and restaurant/ hospitality industries allowed me to realize the ways in which I could take my educational knowledge and career skills and use them to do something I love. I love music and entertainment. I started going to concerts religiously around the age of 18. As a student and young adult I understand how the rising prices of live entertainment and the monopolization of the industry has made it difficult for music lovers to afford ticket prices. In the past few years I’ve begun going to music festivals and the culture that is created within these festivals has had a significant impact on me. Similarly there is a feeling of unity felt in smaller venues where fans are meant to feel like they are a part of something much more meaningful. Your dedication to expanding and improving the overall live experience for fans and artists is what drew me to your story.
