2020UNITED AS ONE TO REACH THE MANY

  • hat kind of love is this? It gives to the undeserving, the uncommitted and often the

ungrateful. It knows no limit, boundary or end.It never gives up, runs out or runs dry. Its as deep and as passionate and as hot as when it was first conceived. It doesnt withdraw, react or refuse. It cant be stopped, obliterated or defused. This is the love that God has for this city.

    20 campuses by 2020

    Centre of Excellence for training

    City-wide childrens ministry

    His 3000 and beyond

  • od has been so good, and the journey to date truly remarkable. Destiny Glasgow has grown to around 1200 people, having planted out into Edinburgh, Stirling, Aberdeen, The Highlands, India - and so much

more, in fact almost 800 churches, with more than 100,000 people connected. Yet our passion for this city is as strong as ever. We currently have 6 campuses and a new one just started (since we announced this vision) in Ayr.

It takes church to the people. It creates room for everyone to get

involved. It stretches our faith. It facilitates diversity in unity.

Planting campuses is a very powerful and effective way to both grow the church and reach the city:

Planted a new outreach campus into Drumchapel. Over 60 weekly small groups - Growth Groups. Foodbanks and drop in points operating three times a week. Celebrate Recovery groups for both men and women. Started a new Sunday morning campus in the Gorbals. Adopted our Stirling campus. Started a new Ayrshire campus. Prayer meetings happening every single day. Hugely successful kids holiday groups two years running. Specialised worship clinics for those interested in this ministry. Launched an HNC course in counselling through Destiny College. Hosted healing meetings all over the city and country. Extended our evangelism teams from one team to three. Sharp increase in new members. Growing response to the call to be baptised. Completely rewired our southside campus. Installed a new modern, efficient heating system in the southside campus. Relocated our city campus to the Student Union to accommodate growth. Moved our west end campus to the Queen Margaret Union building to

accommodate growth. Coming next: New campus in ...Rutherglen!

  • You can do what I cannot do, I can do what you cannot do, together we can do great things.

The church has over 100 ministry teams functioning 7 days a week, and dedicated teams making the 7 campuses happen. If we are reaching for 20 campuses we will need all hands on deck. But we also need to resource the vision. There are 3 major things that need our finance.

    S t a r t i n g a n d r u n n i n g a c a m p u s

It costs around 20,000 for each new campus in its first year. This does not include staff costs, simply venues and equipment costs. As the campus grows it will become self-sustaining and able to prepare for the next campus plant. Children are a huge part of this journey; we want not only the very best childrens programme within each campus, but weekly kids clubs and outreaches.

We want to plant 5 campuses in the first year, so thats 100,000.The next campus will be planted in Rutherglen.

A growing church needs pastors; small group leaders; musicians; technicians; childrens workers; youth workers; mercy ministries leaders, administrators and much more. We are committed to training and rising up such an army.

We presently own a fantastic building in the heart of the city; it now needs a considerable upgrade. We would like to transform it into a Centre of Excellence for the whole church, as well as a base for the city campus, the Uncut students ministry and a top class administrative hub that will oversee the 20 campuses. The building needs an initial investment of around 500,000. This will not only overhaul the fabric of the building like heating and lifts, but also give us modern arts, music and Media Centre, complete with recording rooms and studios. It will be fully equipped with new teaching rooms, dedicated livestream facilities, and our own city centre resource bookshop and caf for outreach. It will be like a hub in a wheel, with 20 spokes (campuses) reaching outwards touching our city.

It is a noble work to reclaim the worlds downtrodden people.

We wish to roll out all that we are doing through Destiny Angels into the whole city and around every campus that emerges. This includes the Hopeline, the only 24 hour Christian helpline in the country. This needs an additional 35,000 per annum. This also includes the foodbank and Lifeline, together with other new initiatives.

    We can all play our

    part by

    preparing

    to both be

    involved

    and give

on the 28th June at Destiny United.

This is a moment when we all need to stretch our faith, involve and give. We cant all give the same, but we can all give something. Its not about equal giving but it is about equal sacrifice, which includes our children, students, seniors and professionals.

Although we are sharing our 2020 vision, we as leaders believe that we should take the church on a 12 month giving plan. What can we commit to give over 12 months? We will then revisit this journey each year.

This is giving over and above our regular tithes and offerings.

    H o w c a n w e g i v e ?

By a one off gift on the day. By a pledge to be redeemed within the 12 month period. By a standing order weekly or monthly. This is the way that most people will want to give. By a mixture of any of the above.

Every contribution will make a significant difference. If we looked at this monthly, just see how it adds up.

    1 person 1,000 per month2 persons 500 per month4 persons 250 per month20 persons 100 per month40 persons 50 per month50 persons 30 per month60 persons 25 per month70 persons 20 per month80 persons 10 per month

Total number of people giving = 327

That would equal 146,400 in one year plus gift aid. The total would

    be 180,000 (approx.)

The more of us give, the easier the task.

  • We should all give. (Luke 6:38) We should give with joy and cheerfulness. (2 Corinthians 9:7) Its like seed and so we sow with faith. (Galatians 6:7) Live for eternity. (Matthew 6:19) If we handle money well, God will entrust us with real riches, souls saved and lives

    changed. (Luke 16:11)

What we learn about giving from the Bible

God does not expect us to do more than we can, but He does want us to do all that we can - and that is often a lot more than we think.
