The Reaction Engines brand is an essential component of our company's identity. It represents the way we talk about ourselves to different audiences. It consists of a collection of assets which together clearly represent who we are and how we operate.

In order to maintain our brand identity you should refer to these brand guidelines for every piece of communication you produce, for both internal documents, posters, financial documents and all external communications. This document outlines guidelines on how to apply our logo, colour palette, our tone of voice, our visual identity and our values.

While what we do is outstanding, how we do it is at the heart of what matters most to us. We have taken time as a team to think long and hard about how we do business and what is important to us and our stakeholders.

UNLOCKING THE FUTURE OF SPACE ACCESS AND HYPERSONIC FLIGHT

Reaction Engines was formed in 1989 to design and develop a new class of innovative hypersonic and space-access propulsion system – the Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine (SABRETM). We are a privately held company based in Culham, Oxfordshire, UK, with a subsidiary office in Colorado, USA.

Our goal is to deliver a truly versatile propulsion system – a hybrid air-breathing rocket engine that can power an aircraft from a standing start to over five times the speed of sound for hypersonic flight in the atmosphere, and over 25 times the speed of sound for space access. With its wide range of operation and scalability, SABRE represents an entirely new class of aerospace propulsion system. SABRE-class engines will enable the development of

a new generation of aircraft and will allow space launch vehicles to be built that will radically improve the affordability, reliability and responsiveness of access to space.

In addition to the SABRE development programme, Reaction Engines offers a unique and extensive range of capabilities, from propulsion systems and heat exchanger design and development, through to advanced manufacturing, precision machining and fabrication.

Our heat exchanger technology has the potential to revolutionise what can be achieved with thermal management across a range of industries, from aerospace to motorsport, industrial processes, and the energy industry.

At the heart of our visual identity is the Reaction Engines logo – the logo lockup as shown below. It should appear on everything we produce, from letterheads to leaflets and websites.

THE LOGO SHOULD ALWAYS BE CENTRE ALIGNED.For internal documents and printed materials, the correct position for the Reaction Engines logo is top centre of the page. The logo may be used at the bottom of the page in marketing materials, under the advice of the marketing department. If you wish to use the logo in a bottom right-hand position, you will need approval from the marketing team.

The Reaction Engines logo is protected by an invisible exclusion zone in which no graphic material other than the background should appear. This is to ensure that the logo remains free from visual interference and stands out clearly.

DO NOT USE These are old logo versions, incorporating an aerospace strapline and/or a darker blue logo.

Stacked version: minimum width 25mm

Long version: minimum width 60mm

The use of the roundel device on its own is allowed but only if the logo lockup is present on the same materials.

The whole roundel must be used, it cannot be cut off in any way or bleed off a page. It must not be placed at any other angle than that shown.

SABRE is the word marque for our unique Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine. SABRE is a registered trademark.

The superscript TM must always be used with the SABRE wording on the first usage, thereafter it is not compulsory to apply the superscript throughout a large document.TM will always be used on graphic displays and printed materials.

The size of the TM superscript relative to the SABRE wording is 16% and should be positioned as shown above.

For example: if SABRE is set in 48pt the TM is to be set in 8pt. The superscript function does not need to be applied to the TM text.

The SABRE TF1 logo should be used only if the main Reaction Engines logo is present on the same materials.

The whole logo must be used, it cannot be cut off in any way or bleed off a page. It must not be placed at any other angle than that shown.

Correct colour usage is almost as important as correct logo usage. Colour is a powerful visual tool and provides a strong means of visual recognition.

When applied consistently across the entire range of our corporate and marketing communications, typography will help to unify the appearance of Reaction Engines materials and help our audiences recognise and become familiar with our brand identity.

Photography is a powerful and dynamic tool. Our values and ethos are reflected in the images we use. They should communicate the diversity, energy and personality of what we do.

The images fall into three main categories:

IllustrationThese are used to convey the more abstract messages about the company, i.e. connecting people, ideas and process through technical advancements.

EngineeringPhotographs or 3D models of the components and engines we create, this also includes the facilities and tools we use.

Where do I eat?We have a large common room in building E5, as well as kitchens (with fridges) in each building area. There is also onsite restaurant, deli bar, Costa Coffee and a shop located in the E3 Building. Where do I park?Open parking is in any of the dedicated car parks on-site or along the main roads in marked bays. We also have dedicated visitor parking next to the main E3 Foyer. Are there any changing rooms / showers?There are dedicated ladies and gents internal changing rooms, with personal lockers. There are common shower facilities around site. Are there any social clubs?We have access to the CSSA (Culham Sports and Social Association) which for an annual membership, gives you access to sports facilities as well as on-site and external events. What should I wear?It is best to ask your line manager this question as it differs between departments but we are generally a no-tie kind of place, unless we have important visitors.
