Unlock the HCM potential by empowering employees —— ADP helps Geoconcept China to automate its HCM process The Challenge Geoconcept operates in China with fewer than 30 employees and is growing fast. The management team sees no need until now to hire an in-house HR professional, and most of the HR related services were previously outsourced. However, it caused a massive administrative burden for the management team to answer questions about payroll and leave as raised by more and more employees. The company is, therefore, looking for an integrated solution to standardize and automate the HCM process, which can be accessed by the management team worldwide while providing improved services to employees in China. Cost control is another important consideration as the company expects that HR administrative cost will not increase significantly with the gradual expansion of the team. Company Profile Founded in 1990 in France, Geoconcept Group specializes in the design and implementation of cartographic information technologies for corporate and public functions, aiming to transform the efficiency of various organizations by intelligently combining geographical information with optimization tools. The company serves over 10,000 clients from 35 countries. It is headquartered in France, with offices in China (Shanghai), India (Chennai), Japan (Tokyo) and Switzerland (Geneva). The Action Addressing the challenge the company is facing in human capital management, ADP has implemented a comprehensive solution including payroll and social benefits management, money movement and leave/overtime service based on one single SaaS platform for Geoconcept China, which greatly improved HR operation efficiency while ensuring compliance. The project implementation went very smoothly; it took only about one month for the platform to go live. ADP has worked closely with Geoconcept China to work out the solution and define all the rules in the system, with all milestones successfully reached and all deadlines met. “Overall, I was quite impressed,” said Pierre-Antoine Tricen, Director EA and ANZ Regions from Geoconcept, “There was a dedicated project manager from ADP who kept on tracking the progress. It was great to know where we were going, when the platform would be live and when it would be available to employees. I am glad we did not miss any deadlines.” Leave, and Overtime used to be a headache for Geoconcept China; the process is now also automated in the new system. Besides providing industry benchmarking information, ADP also helped Geoconcept China to customize the rules in the system to meet the company’s specific HR policy. “Whenever setting up a new system, it pushes us to think about things that we do not usually think about – what are the industry standards, where are we, how can we not only reach the standards but also provide additional benefits to our employees. All of these were done through ADP’s consultancy,” Pierre shared.
