University Office Space Survey
Strategies:
• Reduce the number of multiple offices• 48 people are occupying more than one office
• Multiple offices account for over 18,200 assignable square feet
• Make up to 24 “new” offices available
University Office Space Survey
Strategies:
• Evaluate offices assigned to Emeritus Faculty• On a space available basis, emeritus faculty may occupy shared
office space when they are actively engaged in ongoing teaching, research, publication, or service to the University.
• Assignment of a private office to an emeritus professor must be approved by the Provost as an exception to policy and should be based on a level of activity comparable to that of a full-time faculty member.
University Office Space Survey
Strategies:
• Incentivize departments/units to adopt efficient space utilization principles based on the Administrative Space Guidelines• 8.33% (47,147 ASF) of office space surveyed is vacant
• Notre Dame provides funding incentives to cover renovation costs for departments that adopt efficient space utilization principles such as open office environments and more efficient ASF/Person space factors.
