• 1971Establishment of 3 separate universities with specific purposes focusing on the scientific disciplines, humanities, and legal, political, social and technological education.

► Groundwork for interuniversity cooperation, strengthened over time by jointly designed and conducted projects.

• 1989Birth of the European Confederation of Upper Rhine Universities (Eucor)

• 1st January 2009: born of the University of Strasbourg, a unique and pioneering example of merging universities in France.
