PART NUMBER: IM14 R0 REVISED: OCT/09 UNIVERSAL HYDRAULIC WINCH INSTALLATION 1. Lower auger completely and remove the hand winch. 2. Attach the hydraulic winch to the winch mount using existing hardware if possible. Westfield TF Augers only: The hydraulic winch uses a different set of holes than the manual winch, see Figure 1. The hydraulic winch drum will be centered on frame when installed properly. All other Augers: Replace hand winch with hydraulic winch and line up so cable indexes properly. Use existing hardware if possible. 3. Remove cable from hand winch. Install onto hydraulic winch. The cable must be wound on the top side of the winch drum (Figure 2 and 3). Hydraulic Safety Always place all tractor hydraulic controls in neutral before disconnecting from tractor or working on hydraulic system. Make sure that all components in the hydraulic system are kept in good condition and are clean. Replace any worn, cut, abraded, flattened, or crimped hoses. Do not attempt any makeshift repairs to the hydraulic fittings or hoses by using tape, clamps, or cements. The hydraulic system operates under extremely high-pressure. Such repairs will fail suddenly and create a hazardous and unsafe condition. Wear proper hand and eye protection when searching for a high-pressure hydraulic leak. Use a piece of wood or cardboard as a backstop instead of hands to isolate and identify a leak. If injured by a concentrated high-pressure stream of hydraulic fluid, seek medical attention immediately. Serious infection or toxic reaction can develop from hydraulic fluid piercing the skin surface. Figure 1 Winch Mount, Westfield TF Augers
