Unitrends vProtect Hyper-V and VMware Data Protection

Unitrends leverages the VADP (vStorage APIs for Data Protection) published by Vmware & Microsoft.

Available on vCenter Server and all licensed ESX and ESXi (3.5, 4.x, & 5.x)

Available on Hyper-V Servers running on Windows 2008.

Supports changed block tracking, native thin provisioning, vMotion and point-in-time and file-level

recovery for Vmware.

Pull-based architecture which does not require agent install on GOS’s

With VMWare Instant Recovery you can immediately host the new virtual guest from the Unitrends

Appliance (Using NFS) and vMotion will migrate it back to the proper datastore while the server

stays up and running.

Incremental Forever (Windows and Linux)

An improved RPO (Recovery Point Objective)

through near-CDP (Continuous Data

Protection) backup snapshot protection. We

offer flexible scheduling of incremental backup

as often as every 15 minutes.

Shorter backup windows since a master or full

backup is needed only once

Improved network efficiency since after the

first master or full backup only incremental

backups are needed - no additional master or

full backups or differential backups are

required

The underlying technology that makes this

possible are synthetic backups and point-in-

time restores.
