Trap Components

Note:At the season’s end, dispose of the pheromone and Vaportape™ insecticidal strip. Clean the trap with warm soapy water. Store in a cool and dry place.

Wear vinyl gloves.4

It is very important to wear your vinyl gloves when handling the pheromone lure and insecticidal strip.

Place the pheromone lure in the lure basket. Carefully put the cap on, the basket is very fragile.

Note:Do not touch the pheromone with bare hands as it can decrease the lure’s effectiveness.

Snap the lure holder onto the lid of the trap.

Open the Vaportape™ envelope and place the insecticidal strip in the wire at the base of the funnel.

Connect the funnel and the bucket together with a twist.8

Mount the trap onto a sturdy branch of your chosen softwood tree, balsam fir or spruce. The trap should be five or more metres into the woods. Note: Secure trap at eye level, ensuring that access is easy. This helps avoid damage from wildlife.

The height from the branch to the base of

the tree should be approximately 1.5 to

2 meters.
