We’ve had what I would say is a successful year considering where we were this time last year. I am proud to say all Bridge Offices are full. We lack only an Assistant Admin Officer to assist Dee Laser and Members at Large. At the October 10th meeting we will be voting a new slate of officers for the next watch year. Your attendance at this meeting is important to show your support for these incoming officers. I truly believe we have the finest slate of officers to guide Long Bay Power Squadron and keep our Flag flying into the future. This complement of officers is extremely competent and dedicated and work as a team that you can be proud of. A big thank you goes to P/Cdr., Kathryn Byrd for her diligent work and effort for putting this entire slate together. When I took office, I mentioned it is time we step out of the box and that we did. We already have eighteen (18) new members and expecting another two (2). We have been recognized in the Newspaper, TV station and The Grand Strand Magazine. We have been asked by District 26 to put on a Case Study of Long Bay Squadrons Revitalization Program and Public Relations. This is all due to the efforts of Lt/C Mary Gilliam and the Officers of your squadron.

Add it to your bucket list. Historic New Bern North Carolina is our destination for October's Boating Activity. So now is a good time to drive up. That should wet your appetite to begin to planning for next year. Cruising with a group is always more fun. It helps us all expand our comfort zone and broaden our horizons.
November is the time for our Change of Watch (COW) to your Squadron growing. Also making preparations for a Christmas Regatta. What? Wait, it's 90° outside. Why are we talking about Christmas? Because it will be here before you know it. December 2-3 is on our LBPS Calendar, so start planning. We will need a Cruise Leader, and someone to organize the event. We have entertained many along the AIWW. While collecting for those in need.
