Hello Dear Church Family, My prayer and hope are that you are well as you read these lines. A question I have for you though: "What would you say you are thankful for this year?" There may be many reasons to be grateful or there may not. Gratitude is one of these things in life we all have to learn. Saying "thanks" isn't enough, but it is a good start. God, through the Bible, wants us to be thankful. Read 1 Thessalonians 5: "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." ESV. I think the phrase "give thanks," from the above Scripture, means three things. First, it is a choice we make on a daily basis. That is what Paul, the author of this letter, I believe, is intending to convey to us all. You and I have to choose to "give thanks," not only when things go well, but also when they do not. We have to decide to be thankful all the times (bad or good circumstances)! Second, the choice to "give thanks" means a way of life. You embrace an attitude and character of being grateful in all seasons. Every day, remind yourself as you start and end your day to be thankful for everything. Last, but not least, the phrase "give thanks" stands for giving back to God and others. We have to show our gratitude through our generosity and hospitality. Give of your time, skills and resources by serving others. Invite somebody to Church, small group or your home. This Thanksgiving, how will you show gratitude? Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family! Pastor Emmanuel

This incredible mom, grandma, sister, co-
worker and friend has had one heck of a
2018! Before being diagnosed with both
stage 4 liver and colorectal cancer, she was
traveling to doctors appointments for other
reasons. She's currently undergoing
treatment to tackle the cancer, which tends
to create other symptoms to deal with too.
She's totally taking it #likeaboss—but that
shouldn't surprise you! She's not a complainer...AND she's a red head!
Save Dec. 1 on your calendar. The event will be held at the Ocheyedan Town
Hall. More details will follow soon!
