Savannah- open grasslands, usually with scattered trees or bushes

Rainforest- a tropical forest, usually of tall, densely growing, broad-leaved evergreen trees in a high area of rainfall.

Desert- a region so dry because of very small amount of rainfall that it supports only little vegetation

Taxation- the act of a government demanding a sum of money for its support from a person

Merchant- a person who buys and sells products for profit

Theory- a proposed explanation that hasn’t been proven yet

Decline- to fail or dwindle; sink or fade away

Characteristics- a certain quality of a person or thing

Benefit- something that is good; an advantage

Influence-to move, sway, or affect a person to action

Development- the act of progress of growth

Impact- to have an effect on someone or something

Matrilineal- inheriting or determining descent through the female line

Patrilineal- inheriting or determining descent through the male line
