PAST FORM OF THE VERBS Los verbos en pasado
I started to cry. Comencé a llorar.
He wanted to charge me 200 dollars.
INFINITIVE PAST
Work Worked Trabajar / Trabajó
I played Yo jugué I swam Yo nadé
You played Tú jugaste You swam Tú nadaste
He played Él jugó He swam Él nadó
She played Ella jugó She swam Ella nadó
It played Eso o ello jugó It swam Eso o ello nadó
We played Nosotros jugamos We swam Nosotros nadamos
You played Ustedes jugaron You swam Ustedes nadaron
Melanie: Well, remember the lucky charm you gave me last month? It’s brought me so much good luck!Nicole: Really? It never gave me any luck.Melanie: Well, listen to this. Last week I bought a raffl e ticket here at the gym and I won fi rst prize: A week in the Caribbean!Nicole: No kidding! Melanie: It’s true. And then, 2 or 3 days ago, I found a lot of money in the street.Nicole: Not my purse, I suppose.Melanie: Oh, God, no! It was 2 or 3 days ago, not yesterday.Nicole: So, what did you do with the money?Melanie: I bought a new camera! Nicole: Mel, you’re so lucky!Melanie: Oh, but it doesn’t end here. I got an e-mail from my French friend Charlotte, she’s getting married and she invited me to her wedding. She wants me to be her maid of honor.Nicole: Wow! I think I want my lucky charm back. Melanie: No way! It’s mine now.Nicole: Oh, I don’t need it any more. See you later, Mel.Melanie: Hey, watch your step!
COMMON VERBS Verbos comunes
I go to work by bus.
Voy a trabajar en autobús.
I need to go away for the weekend.
How often do you go shopping?¿Cada cuánto vas de compras?
What time do you usually go to bed?¿A qué hora te vas a acostar generalmente?
How about going out for dinner?¿Qué te parece si salimos a cenar?
Every evening, Jane has a drink with her friends.
I always have a good time with my friends.Siempre la paso bien con mis amigos.
I only have a sandwich for lunch.Sólo como un sándwich en el almuerzo.
Every day, I get about ten e-mails from friends.
I got to the offi ce at 9:00.Llegué a la ofi cina a las 9 de la mañana.
Where did you get that camera?¿Dónde compraste esa cámara?
The doctor gets up at 7:00 a.m.El doctor se levanta a las 7 de la mañana.
3 . 3 GRAMMAR FILE
PAST TIME EXPRESSIONS Expresiones temporales del pasado
Check th i s ou t ! ¡Obse rva !
Check th i s ou t ! ¡Obse rva !
No debes agregar el artículo the en estas frases con last.
Correcto: Last week.
Incorrecto: The last week.
Yesterday Ayer
The day before yesterday Anteayer

I worked a lot. Trabajé mucho ayer.
It stopped raining. Paró de llover.
I invited her to dinner. Anoche, la invité a cenar.
