Discover the secret wildlife treasures of

the Falklands. On this incredible ocean

expedition around the Falklands we  will

experience one of the last untamed

places on the planet. There are very few

places on earth where you can see and

enjoy wildlife as up-close as in the

Falkland Islands. Guests will be

mesmerized by the magnificent beauty

of these rugged and pristine landscapes

and the wildlife that inhabit them. Stand

on white sand beaches and watch

dolphins play while orcas hunt in the

bays. Home to 220 species of bird, five

penguin species, and nearly 75% of the

world’s black-browed albatross. With

huge numbers of sea-lions and elephant

seals the Falklands are a natural paradise

where the wildlife comes to you.

You embark from Puerto Madryn in the afternoon heading for the Falkland Islands. Golfo Nuevo is renowned for its visiting southern right whales, so you have a good chance of spotting one as you sail toward the open ocean. 

Day 1

Sandy Argentine Beaches

Several species of bird follow the vessel southeast, such as albatrosses, storm petrels, shearwaters, and diving petrels. 

Day 2 - 3

Sea Life, Sea Birds

The Falkland Islands offer an abundance of wildlife, easily approachable – with caution. These islands are largely unknown gems, primarily remembered for the war between the UK and Argentina in 1982. There is a strong likelihood  you’ll see both Peale’s dolphins and Commerson’s dolphins in the surrounding waters. 

Day 4 - 8

Falklands Discovery

 Weather permitting, during the voyage, we may visit the following locations: 

Steeple Jason Island – Home to the world’s largest black-browed albatross colony, Steeple Jason is a wild and rarely visited island buffeted by the wind and waves.

Carcass Island – Teeming with birdlife Carcass Island is an important breeding site for Magellanic and Gentoo penguins and is home to numerous waders and passerine birds including Cobb’s wren and the Falklands tussock-bird.

Saunders Island – Rich with wildlife on Saunders we can observe black-browed albatross, breeding imperial shags, rockhopper penguins, king penguins, Magellanic penguins and gentoo penguins.

West Point Island – Important site for black-browed albatrosses and rockhopper penguins.

Grave Cove – On the coast of West Falkland the island is an important black- browed albatross breeding colony and the largest colony of Gentoo penguins in the Falklands and home to crested duck, speckled teal, Falkland steamer duck and upland goose.

Volunteer Point – The Falkland islands largest king penguin rookery and other plentiful birdlife.

Port Stanley – The Falklands capital is a welcoming town with a mix of South American and Victorian charm with colorful houses, well-tended gardens, and English-style pubs. See the nearby wrecks of clipper ships and wander through the town and visit the museum and local historical sites.

Bleaker Island –  Excellent birdlife viewing opportunities featuring the dark- faced ground-tyrant and Magellanic snipe, gentoo penguins, Magellanic penguins, rockhopper penguins, and king cormorants.

Sea Lion Island – This island is home to the largest breeding colony of southern elephant seals in the archipelago, with approximately 2,000 individuals on the northern beaches and amazing hiking opportunities.

New Island, Coffin’s Harbour - The site of the only land-based whaling station on the Falkland Islands Coffin’s Harbour offer amazing opportunities to observe nesting black-browed albatrosses, rockhopper penguins and south american fur seals.

We depart Falklands waters westward bound with sea birds trailing us all the way to South America.

Day 9

At Sea

In the morning we will arrive and disembark at the world’s southernmost city on the Tierra Del Fuego Archipelago

Day 10

Arrive Ushuaia

Voyage aboard the indicated vessel as

indicated in the itinerary

All meals throughout the voyage aboard

the ship including snacks, coffee and tea.

All shore excursions and activities

throughout the voyage by Zodiac.

Program of lectures by noted naturalists

and leadership by experienced

expedition staff.

Free use of rubber boots and snowshoes.

vessel to the airport in Ushuaia (directly

after disembarkation).
