STATUS BAR

View Modes

This indicator will help you to observe if all points of Point Cloud Object is visible at the moment.

Coloring Modes

Toggle between three indicators to achieve better performance of Point Cloud Object and to enhance visibility of Point Cloud details.

POINT CLOUD OBJECT AND ACTIVE VIEW SECTION BOX

Point Cloud Object represents imported points by Project type. This selection must be done while creating New Project which depends on your project, 3D scanner types and is tradeoff between visibility, performance and different projects tasks. In Preview Mode there can be visible maximum 1 500 000 points at once (AutoCAD unchangeable default setting).

Active View Section represents imported points in Alive Points Mode. There can be visible all imported points if points number does not exceed value, specified in Max. Visible Points Count field.

COMMAND REFERENCES

UNDET MENU IN AUTOCAD ENVIROMENT

Open ToolBox Opens UNDET Palette.

2D B&W Mode Turns drawing settings to 2D drawing mode. This mode is recommended to do 2D digitalization of raster images, which can be generated from Point

Cloud Objects in Active View Section, using Generate Image command. Point Clouds Objects in this mode appear in bicolor.

3D Color Mode Turns drawing settings to 3D drawing mode. This mode is recommended when you do modeling or digitalization, using directly Point Cloud Object or

created View Section. In this mode Point Cloud Objects appear with predefined colors.

Point Cloud Density The system variable value is a percentage of MAX_COUNT, which is the maximum number of points that can exist in a drawing, regardless of the number of Point Clouds attached to a single drawing. Value of MAX_COUNT depends on current view mode:

1. If it is not active view section, MAX_COUNT = 1 500 000 2. If it is active view section MAX_COUNT equal to value in Max. Visible Points Count field.

For example, if the system variable is set to 1, a maximum of 15,000 points are displayed at one time, even if there are multiple point clouds displayed on the screen. The 15,000 points are evenly distributed between the viewable point clouds.

PROJECT TAB

New Project Launches New Project Dialog Box, imports Point Clouds from ASCII, LAS, fls and PTS files to the new UNDET project, which manages point cloud data visibility and classification.

Open Project Opens an existing UNDET project file and inserts Point Cloud Data to the current drawing.

Close Project Closes current UNDET project file and removes Point Cloud Data from the current drawing.

VIEW SECTIONS TAB

CREATE PANEL

Create with Box Creates View Section by defining Box. There are two ways of creating View Section with Box:

1. The base of the Box is drawn parallel to the XY plane of the current UCS (work plane). The height of the Box is specified in the Z-axis direction. You can enter both positive and negative values for the height.

2. You can specify Box parameters by entering only two diagonal points of the Box. In this case it would be helpful to turn on Node Object Snap to bind Box diagonal points to PC Object’s points.

Create with Line Creates View Section by defining Line and View Section Thickness. You can create View Section by defining two points on the screen plane. The thickness of

section is defined in Thickness (m) field, when you slide out Create panel by clicking on its title bar or just enter thickness value in command line.

Create with Point on XY Plane

Creates View Section co-planar to XY plane of current UCS by defining point and View Section Thickness. You can create View Section by defining point on XY plane of current UCS (work plane). The thickness of View Section is defined in Thickness (m) field, when you slide out Create panel by clicking on its title bar.

Create with Point on XZ Plane

Creates View Section co-planar to XZ plane of current UCS by defining point and View Section Thickness. You can create View Section by defining point on XZ plane of current UCS (work plane). The thickness of View Section is defined in Thickness (m) field, when you slide out Create panel by clicking on its title bar.

Create with Point on YZ Plane

Creates View Section co-planar to YZ plane of current UCS by defining point and View Section Thickness. You can create View Section by defining point on YZ plane of current UCS (work plane). The thickness of View Section is defined in Thickness (m) field, when you slide out Create panel by clicking on its title bar.

Duplicate Creates a copy of Active View Section.

Default Thickness You can define thickness of View Section, created by line or XY, XZ or YZ Co-planar, by entering value in meters.

EDIT PANEL

Switch Grips Changes grips orientation in Edit mode (when grips are turned on and View Section boundary is visible). When you select created View Section by clicking it on the drawing or selecting Edit button you can change section grips’ orientation. Switch Grips button toggles between object grips’ orientations and changes Base Edit Plane’s placement.

Edit Turns on Active View Section grips and makes View Section boundary visible for editing.

Crop Defines polygon to filter visible points in Active View Section. Define several points of polygon on current View Plane to mark View Section Crop Area, which you

will need for further editing or for adding to Logic Class, using Classify command.

Undo Reverses last edit command. When you do some changes in View Section (move grips or launch Crop command) you can reverse these changes once.

Offset Step Offsets View Section on specified distance. Set the distance, on which you want to move created View Section. View Section will be moved to direction perpendicular to Base Edit Plane.

SMART BOARD

DESCRIPTION

Smart Board You can create smart cross sections, move and rotate them. After creating of cross section Smart Board will automatically set the UCS on defined drafting plane so you will always draw in the correct place. After activating Smart Board your window will be divided in to 3 viewports.

1 Drafting plane viewport Shows point cloud cross section and hides any previously modeled features. Objects in this viewport should not be rotated because it is your drafting board.

2 WCS Front viewport Shows point cloud and all features from the front view.

3 WCS Top viewport Shows point cloud and all features from the top view.

SMART BOARD DIALOG BOX

Smart Board dialog box will also appear after activating it. With the help of this dialog box you can create smart sections, manage their thickness, position and track UCS. If you would like to quit Smart Board, press close button (x) in the upper right corner of the dialog. You will come back to the primary position of point cloud, the same just before activating Smart Board.

Cross section Creates cross section. Section’s middle is defined by line.

Profile section Creates cross section that is perpendicular to the line. View section’s middle is defined by the first point of the line. Drawing cross section line along the

object will create object’s profile at the first point of the line.

Drafting plane Shows yours drafting plane (cross section middle) as a grid which can be moved and rotated using grips.

Restore UCS Restores your UCS in the drafting plane viewport and default WCS Front and Top viewports’ views.

Section thickness

Sets view section thickness.

Offset step

Sets offset step.

Up

Moves view section up along UCS Z axis.

Down

Moves view section down along UCS Z axis.
