The Foundational CurriculumTwelve Doctrinal Themes

Each one of the Twelve Doctrinal Themes contains ten foundational questions and answers. We refer to these as the “Top Ten.” The Top Ten comprise the 120 Foundational Questions and Answers.


The foundation of all our curriculum workbooks, which we call Truthbooks, is 120 Questions and

Answers.


The basis of every curriculum unit, no matter the age level, is one of the Top 120 Q&A.

Every Doctrinal Theme Begins with an “Intro Page”

The Theme Intro Page is designed to summarize the teaching the child will be studying for the next several weeks.


A Key Truth is presented first.

Two Key Passages of Scripture are presented at the end.


At the top of the Intro Page are the five award patches that a child can earn while working through this Doctrinal Theme.

The symbols in the lower right hand corner are the 12 Doctrinal Theme symbols with the appropriate Doctrinal Theme enlarged.



There is nothing “official” the child needs to do at this page other than read it. It is designed to introduce the Doctrinal Theme.


There are 10 Primary Curriculum Units and 2 Review Curriculum Units following every Theme Intro Page.

Most Primary Curriculum Units are between 2-3 pages in length.

Each unit begins with a unit title and ends with the official “signature area.”

Let’s look at this PCU more closely…


Directly under the Title there is a “Memorize It!” component.


The “Memorize It!” is one of the Top 120 Questions and Answers of Kids 4 Truth.


The remainder of the curriculum unit works to reinforce the truth that is taught in the “Memorize It!” component.


The “Memorize It!” is the most important part of the curriculum.


In order to earn a signature and complete any Primary Curriculum Unit, a child must memorize and recite the answer portion to his worker.


Workers may require children to complete other items, but the “Memorize It!” remains far and away the most essential!

Every 2 session years the boys and girls will memorize and recite the Top 120 Questions and Answers.

As the children grow older and are able to mentally digest more knowledge, the answers deepen and expand.





The 120 questions stay the same but the answers gradually “get tougher!”

We desire to systematically build upon the rich doctrinal knowledge that children have learned in previous levels.

Review Units

The Review Units consist of 5 of the Top 10 Q&A (Memorize It!) from each particular doctrinal theme.

• There are always 2 Review Units after the child completes the 10 Primary Curriculum Units.

• Children should not progress to either of the Review Units until they complete the first 10 PCUs, in order, for that particular Doctrinal Theme.

• The Review Units recap the “Memorize It!” portion of the PCUs. Each Review Unit recaps 5. The first Review Unit recaps the first 5, the second Review Unit recaps the second 5.

• The goal for the child is to be able to memorize the “Memorize It!” portions of the curriculum well enough to recite the answers 5 at a time!

Tying It All Together… • Children can earn up to 5

award patches per doctrinal theme.

• Each doctrinal theme contains 10 curriculum units, the basis of each one being one of the Top 120 Q&A.

Tying It All Together… • Award 1: Memorize and recite

the first five Top Q&A (first five Primary Curriculum Units).

• Award 2: Memorize and recite the second five Top Q&A (second five Primary Curriculum Units).

• Award 3: recite the first five Top Q&A at one time (Review Unit #1).

Tying It All Together… • Award 4: recite the second

five Top Q&A at one time (Review Unit #2).

• The Bonus Award varies from church to church.

• Children can earn up to 30 award patches in a club session year (9-12 months).
