Implementing a Neo-Corbusian form, Richard Meier accomplishes the Neugebauer House with some of the most modern styles in architecture. Researching images and information about the house and site helped con-struct re-drawn elevations, floor, and site plans. The rendered images were done in 3ds max where materiality and daylighting were emphasized.

4th St. Se Library

The following set of drawings were fo-cused on analyzing and understanding Ralph Rapson’s 4th St. SE Hennepin County Library through a series of pho-tographs, measurements, and sketches. These drawings were compiled onto a final presentation board to not only em-phasize our artistic ability but also di-grammatically understand the space.

The Brion-Vega cemetery is located outside of San Vito d’Altivole, Italy. De-signed by Carlo Scarpa in 1969, it is an enclosed necropolis for the Brion fami-ly. As a group, we compiled information about the site, re-traced the site plan in Autocad, and lasercut MDF board to construct a model to understand the sacred space. Here we analyzed the site and the movement one takes as they enter the space. We also digitally designed the space to help us under-stand inside vs. outside.

Social Media DesignPreserve3250

Social Media has become one of the most widely known use of technology in the world today. From computers, to mobile devices, to tablets, and more, social media has changed how we receive and send information globally. By utilizing this idea, me and with the help of two other classmates devel-oped a mock-up website in order to keep historic preservation relevant and an on-going issue. With a series of drawings, iterations, mock-ups, research, and hands on website con-struction we created Preserve3250: an interactive website that archives Minneapolis’ historic preservation cor-respondingly. Here we hope to spread the word by using social media tech-nology to help engage public par-ticipation and to change local urban infrastructure, including preservation and restoration projects.

We developed a mobile device ap-plication that updates information as we update the website. On the go or at home, Preserve3250’s mobility allows people to go on-site, take a picture, and get information about that current preservation or restoration project.

A final group project building a residential home with specific guildelines to follow by the instructor. Initially started with the group’s decided floor plan and then further constructed a house using SketchUp. Added furniture and materials to add realistic effect.

The following drawing was made using an existing image of Piranesi’s collection of “Prisons.” Each student was allowed to place the image anywhere on the page, then expanding and creating your own prison, similar to the original picture.
