Federal NG911 Grant Program
• $109,250,000 program funded by National Telecommunications and Information Administration & U.S. Department of Commerce and National Highway Safety Administration.
• Grant objective – advance states’ NG911 initiatives• Award amount is formula-based.
• Kentucky’s share (if approved) = $1,710,373• Required 40% local match = $1,140,248• Total project = $2,850,621

1. Update Kentucky 911 plan (created in 2009)2. Develop statewide GIS capabilities3. Implement statewide text-to-9114. Create statewide network
Where wireless 911 money flows
• Of every dollar in 911 fees collected from wireless customers, 95 cents (soon to be 97.5 cents) flow back to PSAPs:
• 37.5 cents = PSAPs based on call volume• 37.5 cents = PSAPs based on pro rata share• 10.0 cents = PSAPs through competitive grant fund• 2.5 cents = Provider cost recovery (to end in 2020)• 2.5 cents = 911 Services Board administrative expenses
