Issues you may encounter:When you try to use Microsoft Windows Media Player to play a file and the decompressions that you need are not installed on your computer, you may get one of the following error messages:

Unable to download an appropriate decompressor. (Error=80040200)

One or more codecs required to open this content could not be found. (Error=C00D10D1).

Causes that may lead to this:

This issue can occur for any of the reasons below: Microsoft Internet Explorer v. 3.02 or later has not been installed on your computer. Internet Explorer is needed to install any decompressors, which are file types that let you play

multimedia content. Although Internet Explorer is needed to download decompressors, it does not need to be set up as your default browser.

The security options for your internet are too high to enable you to download decompressors. The decompressor’s installation requires you to restart your computer but no restart was

initiated. The codec that you need to play the file is damaged or missing. You might be playing a file format that Windows Media Player does not support An audio driver for your sound device is not installed

SolutionTo install Internet Explorer on your computer you must go to Microsoft.com and download the latest version of the software.

To set your internet security level to medium, follow the steps below:

1. Click on the Start button, point to the Settings option, and then click on the Control Panel icon2. Click on Internet (double-click)3. Click Internet, on the Security tab4. Find Security Level For This Zone, and move the slider to Medium (or a lower level)5. Click OKRestart Your computer and try playing the file again
