For Such a Time as This

At the end of our Fall 40 Days for Life campaign, we announced a newinitiative we are calling “Every Day for Life.” The concepts are simple;we are challenging everyone to give a minimum of 24 hours a year toprayerful presence at an abortion facility.

With the release of the undercovervideos beginning July 14, we realized anopportunity as we had never imagined. For the first time in decades, PlannedParenthood and the rest of the abortionindustry became vulnerable. Because ofthe widespread prevalence of the Inter-net, and in particular, YouTube, the main-stream media was bypassed and the bar-baric reality of how the abortion industryworks came into light for millions ofAmericans.

Pro-Life Action Ministries led effortswhich brought together a coalition ofpro-life organizations, elected officialsand concerned citizens that culminated inthe single largest rally of pro-life peopleat an abortion facility in history, morethan 4,500 at the mega-Planned Parent-hood in St. Paul on August 22, 2015.And the coalition continued as we orga-nized rally after rally merging into our 40Days for Life.

All this was good, but the hard realityis that it is the ongoing “grunt work” ofdaily presence and prayer, communicat-ing the pro-life message to all, and side-walk counseling efforts that seek to inter-vene immediately for those about to bekilled that will bring substantive and realchange. We must continue the amazingefforts of the past four months for as longas necessary to bring an end to the kil-ling. The well-funded and deeply politi-cally connected Planned Parenthood(Minnesota’s Lieutenant Governor is aformer Planned Parenthood official) willnot give up easily. And the abortionindustry as a whole, driven by unseenpowers of darkness, will not go awaywithout a fight. The breakthrough creat-ed by the revelations from the undercov-er videos have given us a renewed real-ization that we can effect change. But wemust realize that the work of endingabortion will be ardent and will comewith a combination of our diligent workand God’s amazing grace.

At the end of our Fall 40 Days for Lifecampaign on November 1, we announceda new initiative we are calling “EveryDay for Life.” The concepts are simple;

we are challenging everyone to give aminimum of 24 hours a year to prayerfulpresence at an abortion facility. The timecommitment is broken down to twohours a month, accomplished by schedul-ing your time as twice a week for 15 min-utes, once a week for half an hour, bi-weekly for an hour or once a month fortwo hours. Place this on your calendar asyou would any important appointment orfamily event. Carve out this regular timeto pray outside an abortion facility as youdo for attending church. It can be anytime of day or night. Get up early for

work and stop on your way in once aweek. Stop after work once or twice aweek. Make it a family event on theweekend or convince your Bible study, ormen’s or women’s group to go a coupletimes a month.

By increasing the presence of Christianspraying at the abortion facilities, I believewe will see an increase in the numbers ofbabies saved and abortion workers con-verting to Christ, and even some of thesefacilities closing down just as RegionsHospital closed its abortion center.

December 2015 Pro-Life Action News 3

On October 5, more than 500 guests joined us at our Annual Life Banquet fundraiser at the Earle Brown Heritage Centerin Minneapolis. The amazing turnout and steadfast support of our guests is a continued source of inspiration for us and ourmission. Lila Rose, Founder and President of Live Action, encouraged the crowd to persevere in the pro-life cause by prac-ticing the virtues of faith and hope. We have to “foster in our hearts” the idea of the Culture of Life, she said.

Via a short video presentation and a powerful live testimony, Victoria shared how a Pro-Life Action Ministries sidewalkcounselor helped save her baby, Dominic, which, in turn, helped her heal from life-threatening depression. Victoria’s motherwas also instrumental in Victoria’s decision for life. We offer our flyers to passersby while sidewalk counseling and Victoriasaid her mother had previously received a brochure on the sidewalk which bolstered the pro-life advice she gave.

Heimmediately contacted Pro-Life ActionMinistries and we conducted a solemnpress conference, funeral and burial. Theincident garnered much local mediaattention, although the mainstream pressfailed to show the images of the actualbodies that their photographers andvideographers had taken.)

The Minnesota law applies to the

remains of a fetus “that has reached astage of development so that there arecartilaginous structures, fetal or skeletalparts after an abortion or miscarriage.”Therefore, very early abortions are notincluded in the requirement. But theUniversity’s purchase order records, which Alpha News posted, show 13- to

annual banquet, in other words, at ourbusiest time of the year. This presented agood problem and a perfect storm tochannel the cry and the need to “do some-thing.”

Here are some highlights from 40 Daysfor Life Twin Cities Fall 2015:

* Twenty-two days, out of 40, were des-ignated Adopt-A-Days. Adopt-A-Daywas a new concept started by Pro-LifeAction Ministries during the RegionsHospital campaign to have a simple wayfor whole congregations and organiza-tions to take ownership of a day and sche-dule two or more persons praying outsidethe abortion facility per hour. Pastorswere encouraged to lead their congrega-tions in prayer as well and this fall, theAdopt-A-Day program was very success-ful.

* The Opening, Mid-Point and ClosingPrayer Rallies had 125, 500 and 200 per-sons in attendance respectively.

* For the first time, 40 Days for Life TwinCities had three cities covered in 40 Daysfor Life’s “community outreach” compo-nent. The cities of Richfield, LittleCanada and Brooklyn Park receivedthousands of doorhangers exposing thetruth about Planned Parenthood’s profit-ing from selling aborted baby parts forresearch. Judging by the phone calls toour office, there were only a handful ofnegative comments and we hope thatmost of the residents took the time toview the videos. This community out-reach was an example of how we used ascheduled activity (40 Days for Life) andquickly joined it to a fast moving story—the Planned Parenthood videos.

* Forty Days for Life National CampaignDirector Shawn Carney stopped by St.Raphael’s Catholic Church as we pre-pared for one of our neighborhood litdrops to encourage the community out-reach volunteers to keep in the fight andto acknowledge their hard work and ded-ication. As far as we know, we are theonly 40 Days for Life campaign in thecountry to bring the pro-life message tothousands of households in three metro-area cities.

But there’s more! We are planning ona new campaign of year-round prayer torun along with 40 Days for Life (whichwe coordinate in the fall and duringLent); stay tuned for more information aswe roll out this new program.

So as you can see, this has been anexciting summer and fall. The tide isturning; secular polling organizations, bloggers and political commentators areall acknowledging that abortion is be-coming less attractive to the averageAmerican. Prayer and consistent work domake a difference. Planned Parenthood

and other abortion providers for the firsttime are on the defensive and prayer, especially prayer in front of abortionfacilities, have paved the way.

Thank you participants, volunteers, churches, organizations, and especially, pastors who led their congregations inprayer and participated in the Opening,Mid-Point and Closing Prayer Rallies. We, the staff at Pro-Life Action Mini-stries, could not perform all these taskswithout your prayers, participation andfinancial support.

Led by Pastor Larry Willman of Payne Avenue Evangelical Free Church, pro-liferskneel in prayer November 1 outside the Planned Parenthood abortion mill in St.Paul during the Closing Prayer Rally of the Fall 40 Days for Life Campaign. Otherprayer leaders that day were retired Archbishop John Neinstedt and Pastor BrianLother of Hope Community Church, Corcoran.

chased by the Whole Woman’s chain in2012. This is now Minnesota’s secondlargest abortion mill, committing abor-tions up to 24 weeks. The clinic’s surgi-cal abortion consent form states, “Iunderstand that the fetal tissue removedduring the abortion will be disposed of,following legal and health guidelines.”

There are other connections betweenUMN and Whole Woman’s. CarrieTerrell, MD (see page 6), was an abor-tionist and the medical director at theMidwest abortion center before it mergedwith Meadowbrook to become WholeWoman’s Health of the Twin Cities a fewyears ago. She continues to kill unbornchildren at Whole Woman’s. Accordingto a UMN website, she also “seespatients, conducts research, operates, teaches and runs the General OB/GYNdivision at the University of Minnesota.”

UMN Using Aborted Baby Parts (from page 3)

Also, UMN medical students are offeredan elective rotation for abortion trainingat Whole Woman’s.

Sixty-five Minnesota legislators sent aletter to Governor Mark Dayton in July, asking for an investigation into whetherthe University of Minnesota was usingaborted babies for research. They alsocalled on the Governor to investigatePlanned Parenthood. So far, the Governorhas refused to look into the matter.

Stay tuned for updates to this story.

Can a Sign and a FacebookPage Save a Life?

by Michele HerzogCentral Florida Branch Manager

(November 13, 2015) — This after-noon I had the privilege of witnessinganother incredible move of the Lord;with absolutely no mistaking, this mira-cle was from His mighty outstretchedarm! He parted the Red Sea where theredidn't seem to be a way!

Finding a private message from awoman on one of our Facebook pages(and a message on the ministry voice-mail), explaining that she is 16 weekspregnant and in need of help, I immedi-ately called.

She answered right away, thanking mefor calling her and she began to explainhow she had found the Facebook page/us.After finding out that she was pregnantwith her fourth child, with her husbandout of work, and both of them Haitianand undocumented, she panicked andbegan considering abortion, even thoughthey are both Christians! She convincedherself that this was the only solution, and the decision was made to get the

Babies Saved

abortion. So she got on her computer and

googled for an abortion center in theKissimmee area and found PlannedParenthood, but the site she pulled upwasn't PP Kissimmee, but STOP PlannedParenthood of Kissimmee, our site!

She began to look at all the picturesand noticed that all the people looked tobe Christians, holding crosses, signsagainst abortion, pictures of babies thathad been killed by abortion, and one par-ticular sign that stood out to her, and thatwas one that said "FREE HELP, YOUDON'T HAVE TO ABORT" with a phonenumber to call, which is the Pro-LifeAction Ministries Central Florida min-istry line!

After looking at the pictures of all thepeople/Christians, the signs, crosses, andthe offer of free help, she thought to her-self, "What am I thinking? What am Idoing? I'm a Christian and I can't kill mychild; I can't do this!"

This is when she called the ministrynumber and left the message. I was able

to speak with her and her husband andboth were very convicted at the thoughtof killing their child, and are now lookingforward to seeing their baby on an ultra-sound, which they will be having Mon-day, and I have the privilege of accompa-nying them.

How amazing is this? Only God couldhave done something this magnificent, and once again, I am reminded that Goduses so many different things to save ababy from the brutal death of abortionand to let us know that HE is God, andHE alone. We only need to make our-selves available, willing and able!

Nothing is by accident; this abortion-bound woman did not just happen to endup on the STOP Planned Parenthood ofKissimmee Facebook page. No, this wasthe Lord God Almighty and HE gets allthe glory!

Yes, God used a sign and a Facebookpage to save this child's life and I praiseHIM!

Since talking with this couple, I havefelt such joy, joy unspeakable, and I amonce again humbled that I serve such anincredible Savior! No King, but KingJesus! "He performs wonders that cannot be

fathomed, miracles that cannot be count-ed." Job 9:10

Editor’s note -- The following is a verycondensed version of a November 9report by Ann Redding, Sidewalk Coun-seling Coordinator:

A man and a woman drove their vaninto the parking lot of the St. Paul PP,and parked in the spot nearest the side-walk. They remained in their car talking.

I tucked my literature under my armand cupped my hands around my mouthand shouted numerous and varied mes-sages to the couple in the car. At oneminute before 9:00 they entered thebuilding and I called out once more.

Five minutes after 9:00, they exited thebuilding. As they drove to the exit, theyhad the windows rolled all of the waydown. They were both smiling; the manlooked exceptionally happy. When Iasked “Did you change your mind?” thewoman nodded yes and the man said,“Yes. We heard you shouting and wedecided to leave and not go through withit.” Thanks be to God for another babysaved from abortion.

A Note on Year-End GiftsThank you for all your prayers, participation and generous financial gifts that have

made it possible for Pro-Life Action Ministries to enjoy an abundance of fruitfulactivity and accomplishments on behalf of the unborn in 2015.

As we approach this year’s end, and the giving season is upon us, please keep ourlife-saving efforts in mind as you prayerfully consider the year-end gifts you makethis season. All gifts postmarked by December 31 will count towards 2015.

Thank you for your continued witness for the sake of the lives of the unborn andtowards strengthening the culture of life this past year and into the future!

Listing AbortionistsA hallmark of our ministry has been

confronting the evil of abortion with thelove of Christ. This approach has includ-ed publicly identifying who the abortion-ists (and pro-abortion leaders) are. Thepractice of placing the names of abor-tionists in this newsletter has a twofoldpurpose: to ask for your heartfelt prayersfor the conversion of those listed and toinform you so that you are not patients ofthose committing abortions.

The criteria for placing someone onthis list is that the individual is directlyinvolved in committing abortions and

Pray for . . . that this has been reasonably verified. We have resoundingly condemned anysort of physical or psychological threatsto anyone involved in abortion. Ourdesire is for the love of God to permeatethe lives of those associated with abor-tion, that they will turn away from theharm they inflict and become followersof Christ as so many before them havedone. Please pray for the followingabortionists:

Carrie TerrellCarrie Terrell, 47, has been killing

unborn children for many years at WholeWoman’s and the former Midwest abor-tion centers in Minneapolis (see page 4).In a May 26, 2004 City Pages article, sheis quoted as saying, “I feel that I’m qual-ified and licensed to perform a safe andeasy (abortion) procedure . . . . How ingood conscience could I not do it?”

Please pray that Terrell would formher conscience according to the truthfound in natural law and God’s revealedlaw, that she would use her medical skillsto heal rather than to kill, and that shewould turn her life over to Christ.

Is Your Doctor Involved in Abortions?Does Your Doctor PrescribeAbortifacient Birth Control?

Ask your own doctor if he/she doesabortions or refers for them, or pre-scribes abortifacients such as the Pill,Ortho Evra (the “patch”), Depo-Provera(the “shot”), Nuva-Ring, the “morning-after pill,” implants, or the IUD. Allthese methods (and others) can causevery early abortions by thinning the lin-ing of the uterus so that if breakthroughovulation occurs (which it sometimesdoes) and a new life is conceived, theyoung human being may not be able toattach to the uterine lining and thereforehe or she dies. These methods can alsobe very dangerous, even deadly, to thewoman. If you would like to go to acompletely pro-life physician, we have alist of such doctors. Call (651) 771-1500.

The U.S. Supreme Court has agreed tohear an appeal of a 2013 Texas law thatrequires abortion facilities to meet mini-mum health and safety standards and thatrequires abortionists to maintain hospitalprivileges within 30 miles of their mills.Parts of the law have already been imple-mented, forcing the closing of about halfof Texas’ abortion mills for non-compli-ance, thereby saving many lives.

The challenge to the Texas law wasmade by Whole Woman’s Health, a chainof abortion centers based in Texas (ofwhich Whole Woman’s in Minneapolis ispart). The founder and owner of this chainis Amy Hagstrom Miller, a MacalesterCollege graduate and a Minnesota pro-abortion activist twenty some years ago.

Operation Rescue discovered wide-spread abortion abuses in Texas during a2011 investigation that resulted in heavyfines against two Whole Woman's abor-tion facilities for the illegal dumping ofrecognizable aborted baby remains in apublic dumpster. In addition, OperationRescue reported two Whole Woman'sHealth abortionists for violations discov-ered during that same investigation, resulting in thousands of dollars in fines.Pray for Justice Anthony Kennedy ascourt watchers predict that the decisionwill likely come down to his vote.

The other case involves religious liber-ty as it relates to the Health and HumanServices (HHS) mandate under Obama-Care, requiring religious institutions toprovide insurance coverage to theiremployees for contraceptives and aborti-facients (or pay massive fines). The courthas consolidated seven lawsuits, includ-ing those filed by Priests for Life andLittle Sisters of the Poor. "This is greatnews that the Court has granted cert in ourcase against the HHS mandate," saidRobert Muise of the American FreedomLaw Center, which represents Priests forLife. "Along with the other cases thathave been consolidated along with ours, itis particularly appropriate that Priests forLife has been fighting this mandate, sincethe very purpose of the organization is tooppose the very activities that the man-date supports, particularly abortion."
