Ultraseal is a special blend of more than 24 chemicals in a viscous liquid state which coats and clings to the inner wall of the tyre.

Ultraseal is a permanent puncture preventative and repairer and also a tyre life extender & conditioner, and we believe the only product on the market today that is guaranteed to last the legal life of the tyre. It’s an elasticized polymer that, together with centrifugal forces, stretches and covers the entire inner surface of the tyre like a huge elastic band.

It is unlike conventional tyre sealants that slop about over the inner tread area only, and which run to the bottom of the tyre in a stationary vehicle.

Ultraseal is not a “get-you-home” product. It is applied before the puncture occurs, and permanently repairs puncture after puncture in the same tyre over and over. Once installed, Ultraseal not only repairs punctures, it conditions the inner casing, preventing porosity leaks caused by tiny holes and cracks. In other words, after installing Ultraseal the tyres maintain correct air pressure and the need to regularly top up with air is virtually eliminated, and with correctly inflated tyres you get better fuel economy.

Your tyres also run cooler, eliminating that killer problem of devastating heat build-up. Tyres treated with Ultraseal last 25% longer, and unlike temporary sticky oil based sealants, Ultraseal is water soluble for easy clean out if ever you need to do this.

Ultraseal converts any pneumatic tyre into a self-sealing tyre that will maintain air pressure and has the unique ability to coat the entire inner surface of a tyre and rim without succumbing to shear and stress associated with centrifugal force that is created within a high speed rotating tyre.

Technology! Sealants have caused many problems that the experts at Ultraseal have addressed. Using a highly evolved mixture of chemicals, they have devised a product that is more than capable of working in harmony with today’s modern breed of vehicles.

Ultraseal has included a patented thixotropic emulsion that bonds the molecules of the product together at speeds of up to 240km/h with the correct formula, thus allowing the driver complete flexibility.

Ultraseal contains tiny strands of coarse surface synthetic fibres that are stronger than steel when they interlock tightly together and will positively repair holes caused by puncturing objects between 6 and 12mm in diameter in the tread area of the tyre (which constitutes 95% of today’s punctures), depending on the formula.

Anything bigger, or in the sidewall, with or without cord damage, and the Ultraseal fibres just slowly bleed through the hole, giving a controlled deflation, and usually with a halt or abrupt slow down in air pressure loss at the lower pressures of 10 to 15 psi (depending on cord damage) which prevents damaged rims, and helps the driver maintain control and possibly enabling continuation of the journey to remove the vehicle from a potentially dangerous location.

Unlike the cheap and unreliable imitations that appear on the market from time to time, Ultraseal does NOT contain ammonia or latex, which damage and corrode rims and casings.

Current sealants on the market are latex based, with dissolved ammonia, water and a sawdust/rubber/paper fibre mixture as the main ingredients.

The latex congeals on contact with air to form a rubber plug. The water dilutes the latex, the ammonia keeps rot and fungus at bay (latex is a tree sap and is prone to rotting) while the rest help to plug the hole. The water/ammonia mixture is slightly alkaline and this alkalinity keeps the latex suspended in the dillutant.

With the addition of CO2, the liquid turns slightly acidic and can no longer contain the latex in solution. The latex then “crashes out” of the emulsion. Simply put, it doesn’t like acid water so it groups together and gets out of there as fast as possible. It is then that a latex ball is formed.

The remaining liquid still sloshes around inside the tyre, but is however simply a watery liquid with minimum, if any, sealing capability.

Latex in tyres dries out over time. The hotter it is, the quicker it dries. The thinner the sidewalls of the tyres, the quicker it dries.

ULTRASEAL contains no latex or ammonia and therefore will not dry out, ball up and does not need to be topped up until a tyre change needs to be done. No need to “SHAKE BEFORE USE” with our superior product!

HOW IT WORKS

Ultraseal is applied through the valve after removing the valve core. Centrifugal forces distribute the polymer over the inner surface with a 2-3mm coating,conditioning the casing and on guard to automatically seal punctures as they happen.

When a puncture occurs, the forces in the rotating tyre together with the internal pressure force the fibers and rubber through the hole creating a permanent seal.

POROSITY

Regardless of what is said and claimed, all tyres have minute and mostly microscopic porosity leaks. That explains why tyres deflate if left stationary for long periods of time. Ultraseal fills these leaks, sealing them and therefore

almost completely negates under-inflation of the tyres.

A FLEET OF 100 BUSSES, EACH WITH 6 x 12R22.5 TYRES = 1 200 TYRES

Based on a 1 year scenario, consisting of 2 sets of tyres per vehicle per year and a fuel consumption of 3 km/l

Figures differ from fleet to fleet, therefore very conservative calculations are used.

If only 10% of these tyres were damaged due to punctures that could cost in the region of R 300 000.00 for the tyres alone (calculated at R 2 500.00 per tyre)

If we calculate the total downtime and call-out cost at a mere R1 000.00 per tyre damagebreakdown, (which is probably more in reality), this would constitute another R 120 000.00

The cost of protecting all 1 200 tyres with Ultraseal would be in the region of R 1 168 200.00

Add to this the minimum of 25% longer lifetime of the tyres : R 750 000.00

Lastly, there is still a saving of minimum 10% on fuel consumption, which will increase the savings figures even more substantially. Let’s assume each bus travels a distance of 5 000 km per month. With Ultraseal installed and a minimum 10% fuel saving, this will equate to a further

saving of R 1 800 000.00 per year!

A minimum gross saving of around R 1 801 800.00 can therefore be expected!

Let’s not forget the biggest saving - human lives!

By increasing safety for commuters, the risk of costly accidents as well as lawsuits due to tyre failure are highly reduced.

Based on a 1 year scenario, consisting of 2 sets of tyres per vehicle per year and a fuel consumption of 3 km/l

If only 10% of these tyres were damaged due to punctures that could cost in the region of R 720 000.00 for the tyres alone (calculated at R 3 000.00 per tyre)

If we calculate the total downtime and call-out cost at a mere R2 000.00 per tyre damagebreakdown, (which is probably more in reality), this would constitute another R 480 000.00

The cost of protecting all 2 400 tyres with Ultraseal would be in the region of R 2 400 000.00

Add to this the minimum of 25% longer lifetime of the tyres : R 1 800 000.00

Lastly, there is still a saving of minimum 10% on fuel consumption, which will increase the savings figures even more substantially. Let’s assume each truck travels a distance of 10 000 km per month. With Ultraseal installed this will equate to a further saving of R 3 600 000.00 per year!

A minimum gross saving of around R 4 200 000.00 can therefore be expected!

Let’s not forget the biggest saving - human lives as well as precious cargo!

By increasing safety for drivers and the fleet reliability, the risk of costly accidents as well as penalties for late deliveries due to tyre failure are highly reduced.
