For over 25 years, Ultra Furniture have been designing and manufacturing quality upholstered furniture.
We are passionate about translating your ideas and requirements into design-focused and commercially successful furniture.
We listen to your design concepts and
commercial requirements in order to fully
understand the brief. As a result of our many
years of experience, we are able to contribute
expert advice, innovation and direction to
guide you through the design process.
Transforming the design concepts
into prototype models is undertaken
with skill and efficiency by our highly
experienced design team.
Once a furniture design has been
approved, we move to the production
stage of the process. We manufacture our
furniture in the UK to the highest quality
standards with a focus on sustainability
throughout our supply chain.

Design
Based on these approved concepts, our
in-house design and development team
begin the challenge of turning the concept
sketches into a commercially viable
product. Utilising years of knowledge and
experience, prototype designs can be
developed in an efficient and timely fashion.

Initial meeting
A clear understanding of your design brief

provides an opportunity to communicate
your requirements to us and to open a
dialogue with our expert designers.
Sketching
Once we understand your design brief, our
design team translate these requirements
and ideas into a series of concept sketches.
This allows you to start to visualise what
your new furniture range will look like.
Fabric selection
With an extensive range of fabrics available, we
are able to offer advice on the best possible fabric
for your design and budget. However, should
you require a specific fabric type or design theme
we can work with you to incorporate this into
the design. in an efficient and timely fashion.
Design and development process
Development
Based on these approved concepts, our in-
house design and development team begin the
challenge of turning the concept sketches into
a commercially viable product. Utilising years of
knowledge and experience, prototype designs can
be developed in an efficient and timely fashion.
Frame Drawing
When the prototype design has been finalised we
use the latest computer software to produce CAD
images for the internal frame. This information
will be transferred to our on-site frame mill facility
who will manufacture the prototype frames.
Prototype design
The result of the development phase is a
prototype piece of furniture based upon your
design brief. This allows you the opportunity to
sit on the furniture and see how it looks and feels
in a showroom environment. It also allows us to
discuss any modifications required before signing
off the design. furniture range will look like.
Ready for your showroom
When you are fully happy with the final version of the furniture design we can sign of the design phase. Upon final sign off, our design and development team will work with our production team to ensure the efficient transition of your furniture range into our production facility.in an efficient and timely fashion.
Our dedicated, on-site frame mill
produces high quality frames using
timber cut from renewable sources.
ProductionOver 1 million metres of fabric is cut
by hand every year in our production
facility. Fabric patterns are generated
using computer software to ensure
consistency and minimise waste.
Highly trained and long-serving sewing
machinists hand-sew each cushion set
that will eventually become a part of a sofa
purchased by your customers. Once sewn,
each cushion set is hand filled with foam
or fibre depending on your specification.
We manufacture to the highest standards using ethically sourced materials to ensure efficient and timely delivery of your furniture.
Skilled upholsterers carefully craft every item
by hand, paying attention to ensure that
every piece is finished to the highest standard
giving comfort, quality and style.
Once completed, every item is then carefully
examined by our team of Quality Inspectors
before being packaged for transport and
loaded onto our dedicated logistics system.
Facilities & capabilities We have all the facilities and capabilities
you would expect of a leading UK
upholstery manufacturer.
Ultra Furniture has two dedicated
production sites based in Kingswinford
in the West Midlands.
At our primary 110,000 square foot site,
we have the facility to manufacture our
own frames within our in-house timber
frame mill. This provides us with a greater
degree of design flexibility and allows us
to ensure the quality of our products. We
continue to invest in the development our
production facilities in order to efficiently
manage increasing demand. Our design
and development team also operate out
of this site which has the benefit of a 600
square foot showroom. The showroom
allows customers the opportunity to view
their new or existing furniture range or to
evaluate new products we have developed.

Our history Ultra Furniture have been making upholstery
on the same site for over 20 years, providing
a wide range of upholstered furniture to
some of the leading UK furniture retailers.

In 2005, the company underwent a
management buy-out through which the
current board was formed. Since then,
Ultra Furniture has continued to develop
its facilities, design capabilities and
quality systems to be able to provide an
unparalleled service to its customers.
Going forward, Ultra Furniture will continue to
work with leading UK retailers and expand its
product range for its international customers.

Ethics & policies Ultra Furniture is committed to
manufacturing furniture that uses ethically
sourced and sustainable raw materials.
The timber used in our furniture comes
from sustainable sources. Ethically sourcing
components from around the world can prove
to be difficult. Ultra Furniture has been a long-
standing member for SEDEX which underpins
the company’s commitment to ethical
treatment of its employees and suppliers.
As a manufacturer using a significant
amount of natural resources, Ultra
Furniture takes its environmental impact
seriously. All furniture is produced using
timber from sustainable sources. The
waste timber and saw dust is used to heat
our production and office facilities.
As a manufacturer employing over
250 people, Ultra Furniture strives to
ensure the safety and well-being of all its
employees. Health and safety regulations
and internal policies are reviewed on a
regular basis to ensure compliance.
