Kelompok kontrol diberi larutan koloidal Na. CMC 0,5 %, kelompok kontrol positif diberi simvastatin 10 mg/Kg.BB hari, Kelompok perlakuan I mendapat ekstrak beras merah lea 150 mg /Kg. BB hari, kelompok perlakuan II mendapat ekstrak merah lea 300 mg /Kg.

Abstract
Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by increased blood glucose levels (hyperglycemia), because of the high prevalence of diabetes in Indonesia, according to the results of basic medical research in 2013, it was reached 9.4%. This study aims to find and prove the colored rice extract has an activity to reduced blood glucose levels. Has performed the extraction process used acidified ethanol and hypoglycemic effect from black glutinous rice extract (kobok) and red rice (lea), using experimental animals Wistar male rats were induced by a dose of 35 mg/ Kg.BB streptozotosin intraperitoneally, rats were randomly grouped based on glucose levels. The control group was given a colloidal solution of Na. CMC 0.5%, the positive control group were given simvastatin 10 mg / day Kg.BB, the first treatment group received received Lea red rice extract 150 mg / kg. BB days, group II received Lea red rice extract 300 mg / kg. BB today and a healthy control group. Giving done orally every day for 3 weeks, with weekly blood sampling to measure blood glucose levels. Results glucose levels were analyzed using ANOVA showed a significant effect on the week I, II and III. Further tests showed LSD to healthy controls significantly different effects with negative group, and the fourth group treated with pigmented rice extract at test level of 0.05 (P <0.01). This study confirmed the hypoglycemia effect of pigmented rice extract on blood glucose levels.
