10 weeks PSEADI am a 10 weeks pre-sessional English for Art & Design course student. For this 10 weeks pre-sessional language course, I have learned a lot of things. Before I just graduated from the high school and I did not know how to write an essay, how to do the presentation, etc. And when I came here, everything was new. My IELTS was really low, and I really needed to improve it. So I think the Pre-sessional Course has been really helpful to me. It is not only English training, but also help us to prepare for the main course. And helps us to learn about the British life.

This 10 weeks Per-sessional course, I am more interesting about trips. We went on trips four times during 10 weeks. We went to Oxford, Brighton and twice to London. International Foundation Art & Design This year, I will stay in Farnham to study International Foundation course. I came here as I wanted to improve myself. I feel UCA Foundation course is good, and the tutors will guide me to be a more independent creative arts student.

Why I chose International Foundation Course? Firstly, my English is not good, so I wanted to improve it. Secondly, I have a chance to study abroad for this year, why wouldn't I go? And I still need to apply for the BA Course. Before, my friend studied International Foundation Course in Farnham in UCA. She told me something about Foundation Course. It is like we will study some basic drawing, will have trips... In this year, the tutor will help us to choose major and then I will apply the BA course , again.

I 'm from China and I speak Chinese. I was an art high school stude Be i j ing CAFA . I want to study game design next year. However, before that, I'll study in foundation course.

P r e - s e s s i o n a l E A P course

In ten weeks of pre-sessional course, I learned lot of things, such as the ability of useing spoken English and writing academic essay. The most important is to make new friends with students from other countries. We travelled to different cities and visited some famous museums in London, Brighton and Oxford. Every trip made our lives richer. The most interesting is that I also learned the importance of taking notes, and tried to use more of research to improve my English skills. I think that it will be a great help for my future life or English study. At same time, we also contacted many artists and famous artwork due to trips to other cities and museums. It not only enriched our knowledge of art or art history so but also helped us understand the deeper, let us also add a certain vocabulary. On the other hand, the process of pre-sessional course is that it is very important, because it helped me more easy to integrate fe in Britain. l feltvery lucky to come here.

FoundationThe next stage, I will enter the foundation course, so I need to learn English for a deeper level , and also to improve ability of my English study.

Major When I was a child, I enjoyed painting , I tried to draw something about animation or games, movies, paintings. When I went to high school, I fell crazy to make some art about games, and even make their own some studies. As I use the skills improved, I began to decide my future course, so the game design of the original painting became my dream too. Although many of my friends or family say that this occupation is doomed after very hard, but for my dream, I did not hesitate to choose the game design.

After my foundation course I will major in

Fashion or Fine Art.

During my IFAD course I will practise my

drawing skills everyday and create a BA

Portfolio.

It is necessary I attend this foundation

course before I apply for my main course

in winter, because it will help me

develop some basic art skills and gain

useful insights into the world of art.

Additionally, I will also enhance my

academic skills.

My goal is to work hard in the Foundation

Course this year in order to be fully

prepared for my future studies. I know

that I can make it!

After PSEAD, I’m going to do IFAD. I think the creativity I will learn will be the best

way for me to develop my passion and contribute to society with both creative

skills and technical skills.

Illustrations and Visual Communications.

PSEADFrom the PSEAD course, I believe that I improved so

skills which encourage me to take responsibility for my development, time management and decision-making.

Furthermore, the course made me to be surrounded with people from all different backgrounds and I made

some great friends who have the same passion in art. I think that getting the opportunity to interact with people from all over the world and getting to under-

stand the different cultures is the best way to develop as a person. Also this experience will help for my future

when I’m facing the global issues in my work.

Keeping in touch with the art community is crucial for me as my life has been in the direction of art since I was young. UCA is a university where I think most students tend to demonstrate their values and abilities. I’m look-ing forward to the next going of my life abroad and will

In this case, the course is very helpful, and you can make a lot of friends from anywhere,Although I don't have much friends...

1 Y e a r F o und a t i o n Course:While I decide to have this course I think I can learn many things in UCA firstly, and I think I need to spend one year to adapt a new learning environment for my development in University, I think when I finish my Foundation course I will be more easy to have BA course in future. In my opinion that Foundation is suitable for some student who haven't professional background and they need this year of excessive.

CAFA High SchoolWhen I did the Highschool CAFA(Central Academy of Fine Arts), I was learning Illustration for 2 years and Fine Art for 1 year. But I didn't decide to do my main coourse, I wanted to learn Fine Art and also Illustration,Thus, I think I will have a final decision when I finish my Foundation year. In the future of my career I think maybe I will become an Illustrator firstly.

IFAD I decided to do this course as I think I can learn a lot of things to adapt to a new learning environment for my development in University.I think when I finish my Foundation course, I will be prepared to continue with my BA course. In my opinion, the Foundation is suitable for some student who don't have professional background and they need this year of excessive preparation.

My ArtThose three drawings are my own work, If I have to introduce them I would say they are the way to express myself. The first one is called "Apostasy", at that time I was very depressed and gloomy. The second one is called "Bird on Fire", it is gorgeous when it burns like a sunrise, it is bright and sparkling, when it's over - it will turn into ashes and disappear with wind.What a pity it cannot be a phoenix, which never really disappears, it only changes its form. I drawed the third one at the same time with the first work, you may ask:"Why is it called Forever 18?", well, the women are dead already and they won't grow old, the point is - I think death is an interesting subject to express in my art - I am somehow obsessed with it.
