7.1.1. 3D Scanning To BIMGeotech provide a professional scan to BIM 3D modeling service, utilizing the latest technology to convert point cloud and laser survey data into intelligent 3D bim models. We own multi kind of uav (unmanned aerial vehicle), some of them are multicomputer used for simple land survey or media record.

Our uav’s controlled by computerized navigator used as remote sensing instrument to capture ground surface details on 500m altitude. 8.1 Aerial Survey: Khrais Fort - Alain:

The Project: khrais fort is an old fort located in alain urban region. It has been restored according to instructions from h.h shk zayed bin sultan al nahyan. In order to preserve the uae national heritage.

The Mission:GEOTECH 3D instructed to survey and digital record the entire fort external boundaries and surrounding fence. Client need to digital model to produce ortho maps, contour maps, vertical and horizontal sections.

The Execution:GEOTECH 3D used multirotor special made chopper uav carried with laser sensors and photogrammetry setup to collect high resolution images and laser scan from an altitude of 200m. The mission runs for1 hour and collected over 1100 images and over 68million point as point cloud las format.We used leica viva-gs15 to integrate the gcp points with internal imu-osd data, an accurate post process operation was generated to export accurate ortho image and dem.Results were impressive, client receivet a set of multiple data categories like:

• 3D digital model in autocad / .dae & 3ds • Video walkthoruogh• Topographic maps• Point cloud model• High resolution still images• High resolution oblique photos.• High resolution orthophoto.• Google KMZ model

8.2 3D Documentation: Union Museum- (Union House Dubai)

The Project: In the contemporary history of the uae, union house has played an essential role. It is located at the western end of the dhyafa street near the beach, the union house witnessed the signing of the treaty establishing of the first federal state in the arab world; which is united arab emirates, it was the second of december 1971. It’s also location for the second-largest flag of the united arab emirates (40 × 20 meters). Which considered as important signage; union house regarded today as the main destination for celebrating the national day of the united arab emirates;, where citizens participate from all over the state in commemoration event of the most important events that paved the way towards achieving the outstanding achievements of the people of the uae.Our client decided the restoration of this historic building to revive its heritage. Our mission where it began documenting the contents of the building engineering using three-dimensional technology.

The Mission:Rta comprise preparing the site, shifting and protecting artefacts and exhibits in the onsite buildings,demolishing the aging buildings at site, inspecting and treating the soil, and shifting the utility lines. GEOTECH 3D mission was to 3D scan and extract as it is 3D model for internal space of the union house, convert a scanned data into 3D Accurate model to be used as digital archive and renovation plans.

The Execution:GEOTECH 3D used leica c10 pulse laser scanner in addition to 360° cameras to digitally record all internal contents, the aim was main building dimensional record. The 3D digitizing system emits millions of points called point cloud, the received points converted into 1 point model.in processing stage, we generated accurate 3D reverse model including architectural details / dome/ ceiling decorative templates.

GEOTECH 3D also created web interface documentation which present panoramic view integrated with building part list, a flash animation video and presentation been submitted to client.The client received next deliverables:

8.3 Oil & Gas 3D Scanning: Abqaiq Plant 3D Scanning - Flare Inspection

The Project: the saudi aramco abqaiq plants facility comprises three primary processing units – an oil processing unit, an ngl facility and a utilities unit. The oil processing unit consists of multiple spheroids and 18 stabiliser columns where hydrogen sulphide and light hydrocarbons are removed from the crude oil.

The Mission:as part of the close drain system project at saudi aramco abqaiq plant, it was requested to conduct 3D laser scanning and provide the scan data and geometric cad model in pds (plant design model) and microstation dgn. The objective of the laser scanning is to determine the aboveground features and its location. This includes equipment, pipe rack structures, pipe and fittings and to know the location of cable trays etc. The captured image will be then used to determine the actual tie-in points and routing of new pipe lines as per project scope. It’s also a part of the project to do flare stick inspection using thermal imaging techniques.

The Execution: The standard technology used for this project where 3D laser scanning, which is a device that analyses a real-world object or environment to collect data on its shape and possibly its appearance (i.e. Colour). The collected data can then be used to construct digital, three dimensional models.

Point cloud scanned over 360° with a range of 152m , the resolution density where 2mm. The total scan positions reached 1230 spots, an area of 1,352,000 m² covered including several information categories.

Dimensional survey where specifically tighten using leica geosystems equipment's, 1” tps + viva dgps where presented as geometric value standards. Point cloud been registered and qc inspection using intelligent alignment system. Generating full frame point cloud
