• 1 Innovation Agency (Innolux) specialised in the IPfield;

• 1 Textile Technology Centre (CETTEMSA) with wideexperience in analysis of sectoral issues, and a specificinterest in IP;

• 1 Non-profit trade organisation, dedicated to thepromotion of the European textile and apparel industry(EURATEX)

OBJECTIVES• To significantly raise SMEs’ interest and knowledgeabout Intellectual Property (IP) issues;

• To raise SMEs’ understanding of the need tointegrate IP in their innovation strategies andtheir business planning;

• To improve the protection of SMEs’ IP rightsthrough the increased registration of rights EU-wideand also internationally and increase the use of non-registered protection methods through the effectivepromotion of these methods;

• To improve protection and enforcement by SMEsof their IP rights from infringement whether thisoriginates from within or outside the EU;

• To raise SMEs ability to fight counterfeiting andincrease knowledge on the methodologies availableto detect it;

• To develop actions to promote awareness on IPRprotection to educate the fashion and designindustries (textiles, leather, footwear and furniture)on the risks counterfeiting poses and on the existingmeans and procedures to combat it;

• To promote and support the use of IP rights ininternational research, development andtechnology transfer activities, providing an IPrights support service to actual and potentialbeneficiaries of CIP and Research FrameworkProgramme actions, especially high-tech SMEs andPublic Research Organisations.
