TYNEHEAD CYCLING AND PEDESTRIAN OVERPASS CASE HISTORY# 32 WWW.EAGLEWESTCRANES.COM Making Crossing the Highway, Family Friendly When a bridge is situated over a main gas pipeline, care and detail are required to make the path safe and family friendly. Helping to accomplish this, the technical centre at Eagle West Cranes contributed AutoCAD drawings. “The project went very well. We worked intensely with the general contractor, gas company and the engineer until we had a plan which worked for everyone,” commented Gary Klynsoon, Center Director at Eagle West Cranes. On sight, Eagle West Truck & Crane assembled the multiple sections of the bridge. Next, they installed the bridge using a 200 and 270 ton crane, executing a skillful 2 crane lift. During the project, road closures on Highway 1 were necessary. Working at night, Eagle West installed two of the three sections within four hours; helping to reduce traffic delays. Thanks to the vast skill sets of Eagle West, the Tynehead Cycling and Pedestrian Overpass now stretches over Highway 1 in Surrey, British Columbia. Testimonial “I was involved with the site visits to different crane companies and highly recommended we chose Eagle West based on their expertise and excellent equipment fleet. Eagle West performed their duties very well and completed a job well done.” Lloyd Ratzlaff Site Supervisor HRC Construction
