    Multistate Performance Test

    The Texas Bar Examination includes the Multistate Performance Test (MPT), askills test designed to assess the examinees ability to use fundamental lawyering

    skills in a realistic situation. During the test, each examinee will receive a fileof source documents and a library of cases, statutes, and rules. Using thesematerials, the examinee will perform an assigned lawyering task, such as writinga memorandum to a supervising attorney, a letter to a client, a contract provision,a proposal for settlement, or a closing argument. Contact the National Conferenceof Bar Examiners for sample MPT exams. The NCBE website is www.ncbex.orgor reach the agency by telephone at 608-280-8550.

    411.081. Application of Subchapter

    (i) A criminal justice agency may disclose criminal history recordinformation that is the subject of an order of nondisclosure to the followingnoncriminal justice agencies or entities only:

    411.100. Access to Criminal History Record Information: Board of LawExaminers

    (k) The Board of Law Examiners is entitled to obtain from the departmentcriminal history record information maintained by the department that relates to aperson who is an applicant to take a bar examination.

    (l) Criminal history record information obtained by the board underSubsection (a) may not be released or disclosed to any person, except on courtorder or with consent of the applicant.

    (m) Immediately following the boards decision on recommending an

    applicant, the board shall collect and seal all criminal history record informationobtained by the board that relates to that applicant.
