TWO WEEKS ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

JIS College of Engineering, Kalyani is the first Autonomous self-financed college of West Bengal organizing various National and International seminars throughout the academic calendar. MSME – DI Kolkata sponsored Two Weeks Entrepreneurship Development Programme has been organized at JISCE campus from 10th July, 2017 to 21st July, 2017. Twenty three students from present 4th year passed out batch from JISCE and other universities have registered for the programme.

To promote self reliance and entrepreneurship among the educated youth and to spread awareness about the various Govt Schemes in support of industrialization, a two weeks EDP was held at JIS College of Engg., Kalyani, Nadia. The programme was attended by 23 participants, of whom 15 were male and 8 were female. Among the 23 sudents 21 candidates were from General category and 2 were from SC category. Total course fee collected was Rs. 1750/- only. (Rupees one thousand seven hundred and fifty only)

The training programme was inaugurated on 10.07.02.2017 by the Principal of JIS College of Engineering who gave a brief lecture on motivation and the need for entrepreneurship development. Officials of MSME-DI, Kolkata gave a brief introduction on the role and activities of MSME-DI Kolkata & the various Schemes of O/o DC (MSME) for the promotion of the MSME sector.

During the two weeks programme ,various topics like activities of DIC, details of MSME Registration, online filing of Udyog Aadhaar Memorandum (UAM), self motivation, details of PMEGP scheme, inputs on personnel and marketing management, Credit facilities of banks, technical innovations and IPR, project preparation, business planning, business strategy, role and activities of KVIC etc. were dwelt upon elaborately by eminent faculties in the relevant fields. Interactive sessions with participants focusing upon specific problems relating to setting up of MSE unit, sources of finance ,online filing of UAM and such other related issues were also held during the course of the training programme.

On the valedictory day on 21.07.17, certificates were awarded to all the participants. Feedback forms were also collected from the participants. Principal of JIS college of Engineering., Kalyani, Nadia was also present during the valedictory session and appreciated the initiatives and

efforts of MSME-DI, Kolkata in conducting the programme. In his valedictory address he urged the participants to reap the benefits of knowledge gained during the programme and motivated them to become self reliant.

The programme ended with a vote of thanks.
