Prokaryotes
Bacteria
Eukaryotes
Animal Plant
THESE ARE TWO DISTINCT TYPES OF CELLS WITH STRUCTURAL DIFFERENCES.
TRAITS OF PROKARYOTES:
They do not have a nucleus, and their genetic material is not stored in the nucleus.
They have some organelles, but not many.
They are small ,size ranging from 1 to 10 µm.
All bacteria and blue- green algae
They have a rigid cell wall containing polysaccharide murein
Flagella if present lack microtubules.
TRAITS OF EUKARYOTES:
• They all have a distinct nucleus where the genetic material of the cell is stored.
• They have many organelles that work together to help the
cell function. • They are large usually between 10 and 100 µm.
• Cell wall is found in plants and fungi .• Flagella have microtubules• Examples : plants , animals, fungi and protoctists
