FALCON’S KENNETH KING EARNS ALL-REGION IV HONORS Truman men’s basketball standout Kenneth King was one of six City Colleges of Chicago basketball players to earn Region IV Postseason honors after a vote by the Region coaches. King was named among the second team selections.

King averaged 12.2 rebounds, ranking him sixth in the country among NJCAA Division I players, as well as 11.8 points, 2.0 assists and 1.6 steals per game in his fresh-man season at Truman.

Besides finishing first on the team in rebounding, King led the Falcons with 14 double-doubles, tied for first in steals and was second in scoring.

The 6-foot, 5-inch forward eclipsed the 20 re-bound plat-eau twice during the year, including February 6 against Kishwaukee when he had a personal-best 25 boards. The rebounding coupled with his 16 points and career-high six blocks in the game enabled him to garner the Region IV Player of the Week award February 8.

Additional season bests for King were his two 21-point performances, six assists at Elgin Community College on December 15 and five steals in a game twice.

A graduate of Amundsen High School, King is enrolled in Truman’s Associate in Arts degree program.

The other CCC players recognized were Malcolm X College’s Joshona Wimbish and Jacqueline Arnold of Kennedy-King College who were named to the women’s first team; and Lafayette James-Core and LaBrian Whittle of Malcolm X along with Kennedy-King’s Romeo Smith who joined Kenneth King among the second-team selections.
